The story of Dan Henderson at 199.

This forum damn near universally after the Lombard KO said he should walk off into the sunset. The perfect KO to cap an already long career...

Then Bisping shocked the world, and everyone who was saying Dan should be done was calling for Hendo/Bisping 2. Literally in the course of an hour, the general consensus went from "retire" to "title shot" because of a different fight.

Why? What about the first fight left the door open for another? How do you say a guys close to the end and should get a shot in the same breath?

Love Dan but it's just stupid. I get liking KOs and gifs, but not more then the already flimsy credibility of the sport.

Meh, I care more about entertainment and awesome moments than I do the 'credibility' of the UFC. That's what I watch for, not so I can say that the best fighter, at all times, has the belt.

And while personally, I think Hendo should have retired a while ago, he disagrees and it's his life/health. Plus, it's Bisping, he's not going to get too hurt.

Edit: Just for the record, I would be 100% fine with the shot going to Jacare. I'm just also fine with it going to Hendo.

People want Hendo to fight Bisping because they believe he has a very good chance and it would be his first UFC championship. Of course there are more deserving contenders but it's not some sort of squash match.

UFC doesnt care about credibility and giving people what they deserve so why should I ? Fuck, Bisping and Hendo have awesome history and it's now or literally never ( well...Bellator...) for them to have another match. And Bisping being champion adds even more flavour to the already awesome match-up. Does it make sense, rankings wise, nope. But neither does Conrad Mc2Taps getting a fucking rematch for a non-title fight, while being the fucking champion of another division, at fucking WW against a fucking lightweight in Nate Diaz. So yeah, fuck it, I want to see Bisping (c) vs Hendo.

Nobody thinks Hendo should get a Title Shot except for the TMZ crossovers and long time drama queens.

Hendo's 50 years old, ranked 13, 3-6 in the last few years, and been #SLEPT in most of his losses.

His only wins have been against guys moving forward willing to brawl... I.e. Rubber Knees Shogun, Tim Boetch, and Lombard.

Anyone who's bothered backpedaling and picking shots has REKT a deteriorating Hendo... Belfort x2, Moose, DC, etc.

That's no knock on Hendo, I respect him for still competing but at this point, he doesn't belong anywhere near a TS.

Dan Hendo needs to talk out against Bisbing to the National Anthem, while having bald eagles sitting on his shoulders

FREEDOM

See this I dont get, where's the line then? Would you be ok with Brock vs Mighty Mouse and Ian McCall in a 2-1 fight? I'm here for entertainment too but not the cartoon kind.

We already got a moment out of those two, what basis is there for trying to do it again? It's this line of thinking that pushes the sport towards pro wrestling.

In this era UFC does whatever sells. so if Bisping vs Hendo sells more than Bisping vs Jacare, then the Hendo fight will be done. thats the simple fact of it all in 2016. It doesn't matter which fight makes more sense. Whatever sells = will be done

Hendo doesn't deserve a righteous title shot. Like Chael Sonnen, or Nick Diaz, but they got it nontheless. I can see Hendo getting one of those shots, just because... it's Dan Fucking henderson.

To be clear about this matter. I do think Jacare deserves the shot. Make Luke vs The Chris for the next shot.

He just gave Rockhold and Anderson some real brain trauma.
He hit them well, but both guys were fine immediately after the fight. It's not going to be another Hendo/Shogun, which (while I love those fights, especially the first one) I don't think I could sit through again.

We'll draw the line at 1 on 1 in decently close size proximity.

You telling me that either guy winning the rematch and retiring in glory wouldn't be a fantastic moment?

The KO In their last fight is One of the most famous In UFC history, so of course Bisping wants revenge.

Hendo is a legend, And top 10 goat. Everyone would love to see him fight for the belt before he retires.

I like the matchup.

It's only selling if folks are buying, and I don't get why folks are buying.

What about the first fight demands a second? That was as finalized as a fued gets.

I know there are worse precedents set and the whole "it's a business" but they're only selling it cause everyones buying.

To me it's not just a waste it makes the belt a joke and not something that's earned and worked for against contenders in the division.

Credibility my ass. Fuck it everybody do what they want. If the UFC cared about credibility Bisping wouldnt even gotten a title shot. Conor would have defended his belt a couple of times and the UFC would actually address the many issues in the UFC with some transparency.

Not for anyone but the winner.

If Hendo wins then what? If they make this fight what do the top 5 do in the meantime when they're all basically waiting for a title shot now as it is?

Itd be nothing but an attempt to recreate something they can't at the expense of the entire division.

So do we throw our hands up and say fuck it or actively stop supporting the stupidity?

If the best argument for this is 8 other stupid things the UFC did, there really ain't an argument.
