This will be of limited interest here, and it's not much of a story since this happens nearly daily in Dagestan, but I figured I'd share it because it's funny to see how the security services in Dagestan bring a suspected terrorist in. I also thought it was a little more interesting than the typical story of a Middle Eastern jihadi because the dude looks like Dagestani Bieber with his youthful looks and haircut.

This guy's name is Nariman Bashirov. He's only 22 and he's already been underground fighting for 5 years. He's suspected of killing multiple people including cops, a teacher who happened to be wearing a military uniform, a fortune-teller (wut)/her husband/a guest, a taxi driver, and was involved with the bombing of a military convoy in Dagestan (at least no civilians were harmed, from what I've read). Dude's just a kid and is already a hardened terrorist (allegedly, of course).

Anyway, hope you got a chuckle out of them throwing him in the trunk Mafia style.

(This is where Khabib Nurmagomedov, Rustam Khabilov, Ali Bagautinov, and a couple of other UFC fighters are from, by the way.)

Should have hacked his nose off then thrown him in the trunk. Fuck that kid.

Wood.
I'd love to blow him.......

up into a thousand pieces with a Gatling gun.

But but he looks just like Timmy down the street! I thought this criticism of Islam was purely hate directed at brown people?? Definitely cannot show this on mainstream news. Gotta keep the mystique of this being about villainous brown people alive.

Lmao his nose is fucked, looks like he went to war in a 5 rounder against Lawler.

You've got a point. This kid is whiter than me.

Damn he looks so much like my cousin, specially where his nose is fucked up, i got chills...

On topic. Nothing of this in official Russian news of course. According to Putin Caucasus is as stable as Norway. I am all for that Russia let Caucasus go (according to Russian law, I would get up to 3-5 years in jail for this opinion, i am serious), but sometimes i wonder what would happen to the region without Russia, radicals idea of perfect Caucasian society is not my cop of tea, like AT ALL. I take corrupt Putins Russia over Sharia Law any day.

My guess is that he is Avar, and their typical y-haplogroup is J1. So although he may look white genetically he is very close to people in Iraq and Yemen. So he is still brown and explosive.

^^this should only be taking semi-seriously.

Yeah, it sucks what has happened. If Yeltsin hadn't double crossed Chechnya, who knows what the area would look like now? He told the people in the various republics when the USSR was collapsing to "grab as much freedom as you can" because he wanted to be the George Washington of Russia I guess, but then everything went sour with Chechnya, Russia invaded and that created a perfect environment for Salafists and terrorists like Basayev to become more powerful. The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria wasn't an Islamic state, and Chechens weren't very religious people back in the early 90s. In fact, they seem to be getting more religious now than when they were independent, with reports of women being harassed in Grozny for not wearing a hijab and the like.

I think if at least Chechnya had been treated like Estonia or Latvia and been allowed to separate cleanly and completely, the area would be considerably less affected by Islamic radicals right now. I mean, not that it's all Yeltsin and Putin's faults. Dudayev paid lip service to Islamism when the war was about to begin, and the second war was justified in large part due to the retarded Islamist invasion of Dagestan. Also their tribal system where warlords commanded bands of loyal men is unstable and they failed to squash guys like Basayev before he became powerful. So yeah, the fact that Chechens couldn't run the country well--and the fact that an oil pipeline went through their territory and they had a lot of refineries there--helped doom them.

Tl;dr: I think if Russia had allowed the republics that wanted their independence to have it back in 91, Islamism never would have taken hold the way it has and they would have ended up like any other shaky post-Soviet state. They'd have problems with corruption, a poor economy, violence, all that stuff, but the Islamist message wouldn't resonate the way it does now that it's tied up with their desire for self-determination.

I agree, i think Chechnya would be something like Azerbaijan now if not for Russian involvement.

That was exactly what I was thinking. The early Chechen leaders actually seemed to want to be close with the West, like Georgia. That's probably impossible for any country in the North Caucasus, but at least it shows they weren't interested in Islamism as policy at that point.

Man, I wonder how fucked I'd be for all the stuff I've said online about Putin, Kadyrov, and the Caucasus if I visited Grozny? Lol. I know I'm a nobody, but you never know. Maybe Kadyrov's people would "check up" on me and I'd disappear...then they could just blame it on Islamic terrorists, kill two birds with one stone...

Are you saying this as a positive or negative, given Azerbaijan is at war with Armenia at the moment?

He's probably saying it would resemble Azerbaijan in the sense that it'd be a corrupt ex-Soviet country with all the growing pains you'd imagine. Azerbaijan has a further parallel with Chechnya which is that its population is mostly Muslim.

Azerbaijan is basically at war because there is a large number of Armenians controlling the western chunk of their country with their military. The conditions are very different than Chechnya. There were a lot of ethnic Russians in Grozny before the first war but many left because they didn't like the direction things were going. Still, I don't see any reason to believe there would have been the type of violence between Chechnya and Russia as we've seen between Azerbaijan and Armenia assuming Russia gave Chechnya its blessing for independence.

Probably nothing, but i think you can get like up to 5 years for promoting separatism online. I dont think Putin`s "NSA" are that efficient thought so it is more of a scare tactics, so that people would censor each other. You actually can criticize Putin unless you are too big. If you become too big and will gain a following then you will get censored/jailed/etc. It happened to Echo, Dozhd got closed, and now it is happening to Nationalists.

Now Vatniks would probably punch you in the face for disrespecting their religion, lol.

Positive. For a muslim country they are secular enough.

Damn. In comparison, that guy makes me look like the brown, explosive type.

I have some people from my russian side of the family living in Uzbekistan, and they doing great, getting along with the locals, got good business going, etc. Not to mention all those russians living in Kazakhstan. So i can totally see russians living peacefully in "Azerbaijani version of Chechnya".

This kid, assuming no one knew who he was, would be treated better than an Arab Christian in every first-world country. Hell, him being Muslim probably wouldn't change that fact.

Maybe he'll be on the next cover

That is the beauty of genetics. For example like 30% of African Americans are white on their male ancestor side. So their ancestors were slave owners with typically I (North European) and R1b (West European/German) y- haplogroup. Yet this mothefuckers got no white guilt.
