FrankieNYC RIP

I'm away for awhile and log in to see all this?! Such horrible news to read, true or not. But hoping for the shittiest April Fool's joke ever.

Many people here repeatedly called FrankieNYC a UFC shill. When I saw a post by him I would always read it, he reported facts, wasn’t biased and seemed like a genuinely good person. This place has a hole now without FrankieNYC being around, R.I.P.

It’s crazy how obviously most/none of us know each other/have never met, but we do feel connected. Like I could tell you who most of your favorite fighters are, who have been around since the Pride days, newer fans, etc.

We are more connected than you think, and that goes for humanity as a whole. Great thread.

So is it for sure? Confirmed he has passed? I was kind of reserving paying my respects until we are certain we lost him.

Doubtful we'll ever get anymore confirmation. Given that he'd been in the hospital with health issues and then the post saying that he'd passed, sadly I think we have to figure it's accurate.

I had a few good conversations with Frankie, he was a smart guy but never pompous. The kind of guy you'd want to sit at the bar and have beers with and talk MMA all night, you could just tell by the way he posted.

Guys, hug your kids and make sure they know how much you love them. Same as your significant others or whoever matters to you in your life. This is a reminder that none of us come with expiration dates, we don't know how much time we are gonna get. It's pretty easy to take for granted the stuff that matters most. Sounds cliche' but it's 100% true.

RIP Frankie, I hope you got everything out life that you could while you were here buddy.

RIP FrankieNYC. Really haven't known what to say the last couple days. Hate this feeling.

Huge respect for Frankie and to all of you.

No matter how much I’ll shitpost movie quotes and useless GIFS I really just do it for laughs and hopefully someone else enjoys it. I’ve laughed more on here than anywhere else and it’s a great release and pastime.

Fuck dude, I took a couple days off Sherdog to come back to this.....gonna miss him. One of the best posters. I valued his opinion a lot.

Thanks for the animated letters. Excellent work.

RIP Frankie, you will be missed.

I know Sherdog is divided. People feel strong about what they believe is right/true. BUT I believe Sherdog is an internet family. No one on Sherdog likes everyone but we're still family. I have 5 brothers/sisters and i really dislike 2 of them but if any of them including, the 2 i really, really dont like, call me and ask for real help I'm gonna help.

RIP to @FrankieNYC. We lost a good one. A member of our family. It just hit me that it wasn't a hoax/rumor and I definitely owed it to Frankie to say my goodbye in it's own thread. RIP.

It's alright to believe in what you think is right. But when your talking on shit you think you know shit about even when you yourself don't know anybody who does the shit, or have experienced that shit than you should stay quiet.

If you think a 13 sec ko means the utmost shame. Than you need to check yourself. Anybody can get ko'd at anytime in a fight, it doesn't mean shit because shit happens. Jose aldo could fight some big motherfucker from the hood on the streets, and make one mistake and the guy hits him in the temple and gets knocked out cold.

Same with conor and khabib. Khabib may seem like he has the most durable grappler in the ufc, his chin may seem like stone. But he could fight mike tyson at his 52 age right now, and when tysone hits khabib with a jab while he's coming in for a take down, in a street fight, khabib may have been knocked out.

All i'm saying is educate yourselves on fighting, and not just think "this guy has only 10 fights he's not beating (ufc veteran)"

Or "this guy punches look like garbage he ain't got nothing on (ufc fighter)" (which i'm not going to lie that might be true in most cases, but in others sometimes it only takes being stronger to beat the guy and my boy who fought mma told me sometimes you just got to be in better shape to beat a guy in your first mma fight)

sherdog is definitely a family. why I've stayed here after all these years. zero interest in other MMA forums/communities

RIP
