Frank Mir now a FREE AGENT after loss to Fedor Emelianenko

I like how coker claims he won't sign askren for a one off, but here we are

I'm sure he will fight a few more times but as a long time fan I'm afraid whatever was left of his chin is gone. Wasn't really impressed with Fedor's finish, hip toss was nice and unexpected but just more disappointed in Frank's ability to take a shot.

I guess being KO'd by some of MMA heaviest hitters takes it's toll.....who woulda thought?

That left from Fedor would have KO'd him at any point of his career. It would KO cold most HWs.

Mir was actually doing well and hasn't look this fast since the pre USADA days.

I'd love to see him in more fights vs guys from the same era.

Kharitonov, Cro Cop, Aleks etc.

If he stays in Bellator he could fight Javy Ayala or Bobby Lashley. If Mitrione loses his next one I'd like to see him vs Mir.

After Bellator made Crocop vs Nelson 2, I thought maybe Mir was next for Crocop's revenge tour. Maybe they can do it in Rizin then.

He could still go back to the UFC. Probably won't be in his recent shape though.

In Bellator, he could fight the Kongo/Ayala loser.

PFL needs big names badly. With their investors they should get Mir for some one-off fights.

RIZIN, meh.. They seem too focused on Flyweights for now. If Mir had joined 2 years ago, it would have been a good fit.

Nobody wants to see Mir in ONE.

With the potential of it possibly being a snoozefest, I must confess that I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch between Mir and Kongo. If anything just for curiosity that their first fight wasn't a fluke.

If Big Foot can make 500K a fight in Russia to be a jobber, I don't see why Mir can't too.
no way he makes that much, are you for sure?

i assumed that was minakov money, with only guys like fedor, cro cop, sergei etc. getting bigger purses then that

Good to see he still hasn't given Fedor any props.... <{cruzshake}>

Where did Goldberg disappear to?

He is surfing and training BJJ with Arona on a beach.
(and he does some broadcasting for Bellator)

Hope he fights Aleks in Russia.
excellent matchup and one i would love to see.

Aleks at this point looks faster and sharper then Fedor but still has a somewhat similar style. Mir would have a hard time dealing with that speed and power but he could always try to take it to the ground. Aleks by KO first round would be my pick.

I would bet my first born that Mir is fighting in Russia within the next 12 months.

Those Russian promotions love their local boys beating former UFC names.

I can definetly see Minakov vs Mir happening

Yeah, in his interview it was a bunch of excuses. People always post that brazilian big book of excuses anytime they give analysis of their fight, even when not making excuses, but I guess Americans get a free pass.

If he is fighting outside Bellator then its most likely he will fight for ACB. They will have have an event in Chicago and Vegas this year so imagine him fighting on one of these cards. ACB has a solid HW division too with guys like Aliakbari, Smoldarev, Erokhin, Omielanczuk etc.

Doubt that will happen, Fight Nights and ACB are basically rivals in Russia, Mir works for ACB so him going over to a rival company to fight their top guy will seem really weird.
