Francis Ngannou open to a UFC comeback per Eric Nicksick

think about it, they would probably pay Tom 5 mill or less even to fight Jones and he'd take it cause he's never made that kind of money before and legacy of beating Jones would be great for him. Think about what Francis would want. If they paid Jones 20-30 mill they'd have to give Francis something like that and there is NO CHANCE ON THIS EARTH THEY WOULD.

So even if you got past whatever's happening with Francis over there in his life and fact two sides hate each other but say they did come to the table the UFC isnt gonna pay him what he'll want. They probably wouldnt even offer him the same they offered before he left.


What should have happened is the two sides should have compromised before and worked out a deal. Let Francis box, UFC gets a piece of it and promotes it. Theyd have gotten two Francis boxing match payouts and we'd probably have gotten Francis/Jones and Francis/Tom fights by now.

Those are some rookie numbers.

We already know that even as the official backup Tom needed $200k to simply not have a beer before Jon/Stipe started in case he had to be pulled from the audience to step in like he’d agreed to. Legally to be eligible to step in and fight he had to be sober and the UFC wired him an additional $200k during the event to ensure that rather than Tom doing it for free like you think he’s so desperate for. He showed the texts himself. Who knows what he was asking for for his show and win purses if he did fight on top of that sober fee to attend UFC 309 also for free.

Nobody wants to talk about just how much Tom’s probably asking for this fight. We know he wants Jon but we don’t know what the price of that is. But anybody pretending it’s low is being silly. Tybura, as the only other HW on the card who had won on the prelims, might’ve had to be the HW backup if Tom couldn’t remain sober or the UFC wouldn’t pay him $200k to do so.

Saint Tom of Sherdog really isn’t the man Tom actually is. This is DC all over again where just because someone is seemingly a better person than Jon they’re some untouchable angel. He definitively wants a massive pay day for Jones. This is obvious based on how little he ever asks to just do another title fight instead. He knows Jones is worth more than Gane or whoever. That’s his backup.
 
We need big Frank in the UFC.
Jones, Tom, Frank. Some good fights right there.

Cheap Dana better pay up.

The sport moves fast...which is why Conor McGregor and Jon Jones would still be the two biggest draws in the UFC if they ever fought.

Except Conor Mcgregor is a global superstar, Jones popularity is mostly based in America. People will come out to watch them fight at any point even if the sport has passed them. I can’t even speak on Ngannous popularity or draw, because he’s not a draw in any market even when he was fighting in the UFC.

I think he feels pretty damn bad. He's a human being. As far as I know he's not a sociopath, so I think as with anyone with an ounce of empathy, something like this will eat at him for a long time, if not forever.

But please, feel free to go full edgelord and tell me how Francis is subhuman.

Don't get it twisted, through those two boxing matches and one PFL fight Ngannou made many times over what he was paid throughout his UFC run.

Ngannou could retire tomorrow a very wealthy man, and a noteworthy HW MMA legend that Jon Jones feared to fight.
He could still make A LOT of money in retirement from consulting and coaching... Perhaps start his own gym.

He loses a lot of cred if he came back to the UFC and loses to Aspinall, which he probably would. Ngannou's getting up there in age, and let's be honest here... that one fight he's had in PFL wasn't impressive.

He'd get probably 3-5 mill for it and given his purses before and chance to fight Jones he'd be happy with that.

if UFC budgeted 30 mill for the fight Jones is gonna get 27 and Tom 3, thats why thinking they'd be able to get a deal done with Francis and Jones now aint happening. the budget would have to double compared to what it would be for Tom cause he's gonna take a few mill while Jones/Francis are gonna want 8 figures.

Why do you think Tom only wants a few mil if it took $200K to simply not sip a Bud Light while being the official backup who needed to be sober as per his contract?

He's either a raging alcoholic or has high demands too.

Is he really though? Jon is the same age as Francis yet the UFC is letting him hold onto that belt for fucking ever now, not to mention they more recently resigned Black Beast for a stupid amount of money and he's the same age as Francis too. Big Frank has fuck you KO power and the HW division is mostly ass, even an older Frank would be able to destroy everyone on the HW roster aside from Tommy.

Tom/Francis is arguably a more legit no1 HW fight than Tom/Jon would have been honestly. Would be pretty funny if they somehow got it done, Jons ego wouldnt be able to handle it.
