It’s a shame we’re never going to see Francis fight Jon, and we were so close.

FUCK!!!! I see a hole in his hairline. That Turkish transplant isn't taking.

Yeah, PFL would be a good destination for him.

Think he wrecks a fair few heavyweights there.

He was the UFC HW champion, he should demolish ALL the HWs in the bush leagues for a few years. Anything less would be embarrassing for everyone.

Yeah, granted, but how often do these big signings not pay off?

It will be PFL. With a contract stipulation that his opponents be well compensated and he can go and box occasionally if somebody will throw him a bone.
And health care for all the fighters in PFL & seat on the board, sponsors and whatever else stipulations that greedy man wanted.

Often actually, Askren got demolished in the UFC, Mirko got head kicked, Pettis only won 1 fight in the PFL, Alvarez got put to sleep in his first fight in One. It seems whenever a fighter leaves for other orgs, they seem to be dismissive of the competition and is looking towards only that "pay day."

Yeah, for whatever reason, the security blankets or whatever not being there, maybe some aspect of familiarity... I don't know, but it can take fighters a while to get their head in the game in a new organisation!

I guess anything can be written into a contract, but it seems it shouldn't be legal for ufc fighters to be disallowed to box.

They're 2 different sports.

Bo, Deion, Brian Jordan etc played multiple sports

If he didn’t get health care for all fighters in the particular org. and mandatory 7 figure figure purses for his opponents then he 1. Folded and 2. Ducked Jon jones

I believe the fighters seem to complacent, the only fighter who left the UFC in most recent times and is still clearly taking his training & competition serious is Demetrius Johnson, but that is a given as he's all time great. I thought Benson Henderson was going to do a lot better in Bellator but it seemed he's past it plus he's fighting legit competition compared to his peer in Pettis who clearly looks like he hasn't taken a fight serious in a while. Wherever Ngannou lands he better take his opponents serious because Ngannou will be a target and his opponents won't have nothing to lose & everything by beating the alleged #1 HW.

Francis vs Rampage and Sapp!

Even DJ lost a fight in ONE that was unexpected - and his coach runs ONE Championship!

Since he got a bunch of tweets in there, some of them even talking about eight figures, he probably got himself a good deal.

Good for him. Funny how quickly half the people here (if not more) turned on him when he left the UFC.

Let's wait for the official announcement, because we hear about Ex UFC fighters making the big bucks in a different MMA org, the released payouts seem to be...not so great.

If there had been greater interest in him, I would think it most likely would have been negotiated by now. If anything my assumption would be he's been working deals that were not his first or maybe even second choice. I wouldn't anticipate some mind blowing announcement that props up UFC fighter potential outside the organization. But it could be something decent.
