I don’t even believe his “good intention demands” to be all that genuine to be honest. Just seemed like a tactic to get people to support his side in the negotiations. Just like when he floated out there he needed to borrow money for training camps yet was showing off his fancy house and designer watch collection in like some sort of cribs like episode. Haven’t heard a peep about helping fighters since his talks with the UFC ended. I mean maybe he is genuine about it, but it just dosent feel like it to me.
Oh yeah me either. Seems completely self serving. Was just saying people are quick to pat him on the back. When even if he was genuine, empty moral grandstanding isn't really helping anyone.

Thank you. People are getting obsessed with this topic in a weird way. It's not interesting. And regardless of what side of the boring and convoluted "negotiations" you're on, it's simply not very interesting.
It’s not everyday a Champion completely sabotages his own career. That shit is very interesting.

A little voice in my head.

Am I wrong? It seems like One would've paid the most, followed by Bellator.

Either way, your boyfriend is screwed.

Wait so the whole 8 mills shit came from someone tweeting that the highest HW purse so far was 8 mills?<36>

No, man, Francis said that on Helwani.

Ariel said Brock made around 8 mills and asked Francis if that's what they were offering and Francis said yeah, for Jones fight.

Some guys fight because they love fighting.
Some guys fight for their ego and the glory.
Some guys just fall into fighting because they're good at and believe it to be the only way out of tough circumstances.

I really believe Francis is in the last category. He hasn't made huge money by big star standards, but he appears to be worth somewhere between $3 and $5 million.
Coming from where he came from, that's made for life. He can do whatever he wants, when he wants.

Sure, he's leaving money on the table, but I think he just doesn't really have much interest in fighting any more unless he can get a huge payday.
Maybe, he spends like crazy and gets bad financial advise and goes broke- that definitely happens.
Unless that occurs here, I just don't think he cares if he ever fights again.

that's only money for life if he moves back to Cameroon, but from the looks of it the entire reason why he left is because he wants a better life. he'll need to get a 9 to 5 job if he wants to live in America. 3-5mil ain't really shit in America.

Yeah they're well known for this. Dangling the carrot of big money, but only under specific conditions. Francis isn't the only guy to mention this or to leave over it. I remember when Bendo went to Bellator. He said they offered him this contract that was big money but only if he regained the belt. Guts want upfront guarantees whenever possible, for obvious reasons.

I’ll give you all Spoilers for how this ends:

1.) Francis signs with PFL

2.) People start quoting that he’s getting paid huge amounts.

3.) Francis will say “I make more in one fight in PFL than my entire UFC career combined.”

/end
In reality, he’ll be making like $500k-$1mil per fight.

Ah!
Nailed it!

I've been saying this for a while. If you look at fan forums, you see LOTS of people talking about stratospheric fighter pay.
Promotions have one job: promote. Get people to engage and watch.

Apparently, lying about millions generates views.
Obvious strategy: lie about millions.

Where does a promotion like PFL come up with the money to pay anyone a million anything?
If people streamsteal UFC, they will def streamsteal PFL.
TV deal?
TV stations aren't dumb. They don't pay millions to anyone if they can't make more millions on the event.
Advertisers aren't dumb. They won't pay millions for ad spots if a TV station can't guarantee millions of solvent viewers.

So yah. When Bob's Ultimate Brawling Championship announces they just signed Ngannou for ten million, they are lying. Or they are talking in Venezuelan socialist currency where a loaf of bread costs 50 bolivars.

I wonder if MLB and NFL and NBA are playing the same game?

Sherdog not only has the smartest doctors and lawyers, but also agents. I love all of these posts that are so certain Francis has ruined his career before he has even signed a contract.

I think him and Dana are both scummy so I'm equal opportunities at least.
Sorry but I have to disagree. Can't compare anyone to Dana. The man is a good promoter, but that's the best and only thing he does best we can say about him. Chatri is exactly the opposite in terms of human being.

Doesn't seem like it tbh. Constantly lies, stalls out fighters in contracts, makes them sign NDAs, pays prelims fighters $1.5k on some shows.

The list goes on.

Coker seems like a good guy, not so much Chatri.

the fact that the UFC let their heavyweight champion leave, when he is a vicious knockout artist, is fucking embarrassing.

ngannou has a career finishing rate of 94%. he's won one fight by decision, everything else was either a KO or a submission. he was only ever beaten by decision.

the dude is likable as hell outside the ring, and an absolute monster inside it. they should've paid him so much money he wouldn't even know what to do with it. he's the promotion's dream fighter, and they fucked it up.

<WellThere>

letting Ngannou leave was a mistake, but not as much of a mistake for them as it is for Ngannou. as for his finishing percentage, that doesn't even matter. he has zero connection the fanbase, that's his major problem. the other is, he has no PR team to salvage his reputation. look how long it took them to put these tweets out, they should've been doing this LAST YEAR when he was leaving, not 5 months later.

and because he has zero connection to the fanabase, no, he is not their dream fighter. Conor McGregor is.

Where is the lie? His coach seems to indicate that he was offered 8 million per fight, provided he's still champ after beating Jon.

Francis's list of burned bridges is almost as long as Dana's by this point. We have ONE, Bellator, BKFC, Glory, his previous manager and his previous coach. If everyone you meet is an asshole...

I get it, people are like he should’ve rolled over and just fight high level opponents but in reality he’s made enough were he doesn’t have to answer to anybody and fight because he has to.

Did he really make enough?

In an interview, he was saying he needs three fights per year just to maintain his lifestyle.

That guy really thinks he is the reason Francis got offered 8 millions.

No dude, you're just in Twitter not in the negotiation or on the team

I disagree, and so do the fans. His biggest ppv was like 380k buys vs Stipe, who has several fights with more ppv buys.

Frank is not a draw. He doesn't come off well in this situation, and he's not worth $8m a fight or for 3 fights even.
