As he should. Even if he's was the highest paid HW in UFC history I can guarantee you he got lowballed. I'd be shocked if he made more than Lesnar when he was fighting. It was obvious this was the way it was going to go, but I think the disrespect Ngannou faced was more of a factor for leaving than the money.

Ngannou was so overly hyped up on his road to the title by the UFC that by the time the title shot came, they completely wrote off their most dominant HW champ ever and were devastated when Ngannou first failed.

Nothing was unfair there. It's his own attitude. Even now, he's just allowed to be a free agent and walk away at the peak of his career with no problem, how many fighters have had that privilege.

Jon Jones contract pays him around 6-7 million, and he has been around as a champion for a long long time.

That sounds about right. I was thinking 2million per fight for the new deal as well.
I seem to recall that Lesnar got about 2million for one or two of his UFC HW fights.

In my view, no way at all did they offer Ngannou more than 2mill, or 2.5mill per fight. UFC had already more or less decided to go the Jones / Gane route I think. They did not have a good relationship with Ngannou and *specifically* the UFC kinda hates CAA which *was* his managing agency until he split with them as UFC just have a bad history with CAA.

Much respect for Ngannou for being his own man. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. I’m down for $89 for the Ngannou and Wilder fight. This is one fight everyone should pay up for without second thought.

I wouldn’t pay $8.99 for that freakshow.

If I told you guys once, I told you many times. When the news came out about him needing surgery. I said “He’s never fighting in the UFC again”.

The only part I got wrong was I expected Stipe vs Jones for International Fight Week for the Interim Title. And the winner being promoted to full champ in December. It appears the UFC wouldn’t meet Stipe’s price. So it now appears he’ll never fight in the UFC again, either.

And some of the numbers you people have thrown around for Ngannou having a big boxing match are ridiculous considering the confirmed reports of what Fury’s last 2 opponents have been paid. He’s probably going to end up having lost money even if he gets a big boxing match. He’s already confirmed how much he lost in UFC earnings by not re-signing a cpl years ago. Just horrible advice and career management, by his “team”. There was NO WAY the UFC was going to allow him to box while under contract. And if you don’t know why you’re just not being realistic at all.

Good riddance to Ngannou. He’s been dishonest and a lot of you guys were conned. And some are still being conned. Sorry, but I can read, and I’ve paid attention. I don’t know how many times I spelled it all out in the last year.
