He has his literal choice of any HW on the planet at that price point that is not already under contract. $2mil + PPV for a match in not even the premier MMA org is pretty spectacular.

Sounds like PFL will want to build someone to fight him though which makes sense.. to have their own star under contract already in case things go terribly for Francis.

This is a genuine question, aside from the "up to" 2 million dollars his opponent gets, what benefits are other PFL fighters getting? Here's the list I've seen, no mention of guaranteed fighter health insurance, please link a source you've seen that expands upon this list.

• It is for only 2 or 3 fights
• Guarantees a “high 7-figure” purse for each fight
• A split of the events net profits
• A signing bonus or salary to serve as a brand ambassador for PFL
• The right to have his own sponsors in the cage
• Non-exclusive with regards to boxing
• No champions clause or other extensions
• A minimum salary (possibly as high as $1 million) for his opponent.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The UFC repeatedly tried to pay Francis.

Ngannou was getting paid $500k because he literally refused to sign any new contracts since Stipe and so was still on his original contender contract. He himself has admitted he's lost $15M+ doing this just so he could fight out that contract and potentially leave rather than renew.

This isn't an F U to Dana at all. It's a win for Dana. He got Francis for 8 fights at only $4M total instead of the increased contracts he'd offered so same labour for less salary, PFL is going to pay Ngannou/whoever way less than Dana was going to pay for Ngannou/Jones so saved there, which is also less than Dana paid for Jones/Gane so saved here too. And Jones, his longtime star, effortlessly won the title.
