On an audio show today, Dave Meltzer was discussing ad rates for UFC compared to WWE.
He said that there was a report that USA was charging $10k per 30 secs for Raw and Raw does 3-4 million viewers compared to $75-100K per 30 for the latest UFC on Fox, for a lot less viewers.

If you break it down, that is between $2.25m to $3m per hour (or an average of $2.625m per hour) based on 15 minutes of commercial time per hour as an average

well Fox has to get that $100 million a year they pay the UFC somehow...

also irrelevant but fun comparison. The cbs is asking $5 million per 30 seconds for the next superbowl. that is a lot of freakin money!

They make that easily.
UFC will be in good shape next negotiations

Unreal

Well, considering 90% of those 3 million viewers are 12 year old boys with no money or jobs, i wouldnt pay too much to advertise to them either

I was gonna say unemployed 30 yr olds living in their parents basement. But we've got the same idea.

It is hard to believe, but WWE actually gets an older demo than UFC does
By about 10 years
WWE TV viewer is over 40 while UFC about 30

That's pretty damn good money for a spot. With demand like that, I'm sure they'll be thinking very carefully about trying to score another deal.

That is hard to believe. Dont know any 40 year olds that watch wwe...

It's true:
The average WWE viewer is now 41.4 years old, which means the WWE audience is older now than it’s ever been.

Truth is, less kids than ever watch WWE
The PG13 directive is so WWE can get 'families' watching.

A viewer that was in college watching during the Attitude Era is now in his forties
That is their largest base & why they try to bring those guys like Taker, Rock & austin back for big events

Good, they paid like 100 million for the 7 years of events. I assume they would make some money off of it.

Raw does 1.3 in the 18-49 demo.

UFC on FOX does 0.8 in the 18-49 demo.

The biggest thing UFC has going for it is it is "live viewing".
TV loves shows that you cannot FF through.
So sports are getting paid bigger than ever
