So many GOATS on that card

Those assholes matched up Gono with Fitch.

"Hey, bud, we know in your last fight we matched you up with Dan Hardy, who is hard pressed to ever go for a TD, but get ready, bc this next fight you'll be defending them for 15 minutes, or spend that entire amount of time flat on your back! No worries, though, when you lose we'll cut you afterwards, for sure. At least you got that Submission of the Night bonus when you armbarred The Barn Cat."

Pricks.

Gono is a legend dude. He beat lombard and mousasi in pride, and his only losses in pride were to shogun and hendo.

A motivated BJ Penn during this part of his career was must watch. Penn was most likely drunk out of his mind when this happened, but It's sad to know an average schmo made him go night night.

We all get old.. once the chin is gone, probably not a good idea to pick fights, even if its a fat dude outside a bar.. father time is undefeated.

Much better times for the sport back then
This. Great times, and the events were so much fun and full of good fights. Champs were better. Far more personality in the sport.

And on Sherdog, there was such a massive shitstorm after this. There had been epic GSP vs Penn battles for a few years leading up to it.

By the way, where is PB?

That's not really what happened though. Penn had put his hands down inviting the guy to hit him (which he obviously did). Penn ended up on top of this guy beating him later. Not that there was anything impressive about that. But yeah, Penn went way downhill; looking pretty pathetic.

Nobody ever mentions the fact that this is the beginning of it and BJ beat the dude up.

Machida looked like the final form of MMA fighter at that time. Crazy his reign at the top was so short but seeing Shogun rise again softened the blow. Much better times for the sport back then
He looked so fucking good in his title run, his fight with Rashad is literally what made me a hardcore fan.

I totally forgot he beat both of them. Crazy Fitch was just that good at nullifying guys offense as good as he did. Not fan friendly or promotor friendly by any means but he was the true gate keeper for George's bel

Will you defend that DVD to the death or just the fourth round?

Great find. That was a fantastic card. Can't believe it's been 14 years
ROFL, classic. To the death or until you quit on the stool?

Beautiful, bringing back even more fun memories. Poor BJ said all of the wrong things in the run up to the fight.

I had no idea BJ got the W in this street fight in the end. That's actually very impressive after taking a knockdown on cement
