Found this masterpiece in my closet from 2009

That's not really what happened though. Penn had put his hands down inviting the guy to hit him (which he obviously did). Penn ended up on top of this guy beating him later. Not that there was anything impressive about that. But yeah, Penn went way downhill; looking pretty pathetic.
didn't know there was more to it, but still, can't really say he won, more like he's 1-1 with that fat drunk guy since peoples separate them after he get knocked out, if they didn't, bj wouldn't had the chance to get back up...

You totally missed what happened. Penn LET that guy hit him there; he was drunk and continually was saying "you hit like a fa_____." He puts his hands down to prove this to be the case, which was obviously a mistake. But no, Penn was not fighting per se in the beginning, he was more mocking the guy. He would have done what he did in the end in the very beginning if he really was trying to hurt the guy from the start.

This was much discussed at the time in the media and by fighters; there isn't any question regarding what actually happened.

i agree he did let the guy hit him, doesn't change the result of the "fight", he got knocked out, letting the guy hit him was his mistake, obviously if penn took the whole thing seriously that wouldn't have happened...but it did
kind of like arguing anderson lost because he was "clowning" when weidman knocked him out (obviously very different context) but in both cases they didn't take their opponents seriously and paid for it

Anderson did not let anyone hit him, and never intended to. Getting knocked down because you stood and intentionally let them punch them is a pretty silly rational for "losing a fight."

Also, the first, and best, Primetime the UFC did.

It’s a shame they switched to some dude just following Dana around to save money.

Trash event, who tf is gsp, bj penn, jon jones, machida and nate diaz?
We just recently got:

Dern vs hill
Shabazyan vs hernandez
Ducote vs godinez

at least fighters are paid more now with all this inflation going around.

agree to disagree then i guess, i think on the contrary saying "i got knocked out because i let him hit me" is a silly excuse for losing a fight, would you feel the same if it happenend in a legit UFC fight? if a fighter were to let his opponents hit him flush to mock his power and got knocked out, wouldn't you consider that a legit lose? regardless if the fighter is obviously better.

A motivated BJ Penn during this part of his career was must watch. Penn was most likely drunk out of his mind when this happened, but It's sad to know an average schmo made him go night night.

That ain't a average schmo, that guy actually trains and was one of Bj's students.

that average schmo would give Tai Tuivasa a run for his money.

I wish I had been on here then although I assume Positive Balance was an asshole mod during Greasegate.

i don't understand why this confuses people. he's leaving his chin hanging out on purpose for it to be hit, without defending at all. any guy that big can put you out when you're doing that. like it proves anything.

My 18 YO nephew plays old video games on an antique CRT TV, on purpose. It's like a hipster thing. These kids prefer the grainy, shitty picture quality because it's "how the game was meant to be viewed". Fuck that. I grew up watching shitty CRT TVs and am never going back. I get the whole obsession with vinyl records or even casette tapes, but CRT TVs? No thanks.

<JagsKiddingMe>

I found one to set up in my kids room for him to tear up it was like 2 bucks at a garage sale I passed by one day. Moving it in and out of the truck and into his room was so heavy it fucked up my whole body. I felt like Joe Montana after the Leonard Marshall hit the next day, "What hurts?... everything".

Back when it was real. Imagine if instead of Bonnar and Griffin we had Belal and Aljo.

Can people really not see him literally asking the guy to hit him?

Gono is a legend dude. He beat lombard and mousasi in pride, and his only losses in pride were to shogun and hendo.
He had it, great fan friendly style and attitude but Dana and Co just wanted to bury these Pride guys to prove there superiority

Yea man they sure are heavy. I appreciate how streamline and light LED TVs are every time I hang one. Hope your kids enjoyed the TV for all that effort lol
