These jobs start in the 55-65k range. Not a lot for that area, but I also have a lot of movie invested and saved, own my home and cars and shit outright. It's not so much the money, which isn't shit compared to what I work for now... it's doing the kind of work I would rather be doing.

I'm legit applying. I recently had a spec script optioned, which has lead to a lot of rewrite offers and that sort of thing, but most people want you to be local to them. I need a damn good reason to give up my very well paying job and move to LA with wife and kids in tow. That reason needs to be more than just some guy liking my script(which won't get made and he won't like tomorrow). At least if I am employed in the industry on some level, central to where I need to be taking meetings, etc... I am more likely to get the work I want.

But feel free to apply as a joke. You never know

When my spec was optioned, I joined the writers guild. My contract was for the script, a treatment and 2 rewrites. I get paid at least the guild minimum for rewrites. I forget how much that is exactly, but it is more than Diaz made for his fights before he fought Conor.

I know some guys who have had their scripts optioned and have never been produced, but just doing rewrites they clear 6 figures plus per year.
