Is this supposed to be some false equivalency comparison?
I like how y'all just gloss over Rob's comments in this thread and keep running with your conspiracy theories of Thai racism. Even he recognizes why Muay Thai in the stadiums isn't popular. Get a clue from someone that knows more than you and is litterally there in the scene.
no i believe rob was correct in what he said. But that is not what we are discussing because if we are like i said earlier kickboxing/k1 is going thru the exact same thing. They can't draw near the crowds they once could and fight purses are way more than 50% less than they once were. Most fight camps are bitching about the decisions and saying the do not understand how the judges are scoring the fight. SO i just can't see how it is any different

Because they claim to love kickfighting, but ignore 90% of the meaningful fights. They're a bunch of phonies.
I think you throw "Kickfighting" around too much when it suits you. Now if they claim to love Muay Thai you may have a case, but it's a case that would get thrown out in court because guess what... It doesn't fucking mater.

Yup, and their attention in media reflects that.

So why so much butthurt about lack of stadium MT fans?

This goes for journalists as well. Many of them claim to be running kickboxing and muay thai websites. You aren't running a muay thai website if all of your coverage is of kickboxing or the only muay thai events you cover are Yokkao, Lion Fight and Tanko Main Event.

im not and you can't find a post that claims otherwise. I just enjoy calling bullshit when i see it. Like the reasons everyone claims about muaythai while over looking kickboxing is going thru the exact same thing

I just try to asses the situation in order to have a better understanding of why things are like they are but I don't think i understand where you want to go anymore...

Do we agree on the points below?
1. Thai kickfighters are superior to non-thai kickfighters.
2. Stadium muay thai is more difficult to understand and less appealing to follow for your average spectator (thai and non thai) than K-1, Glory, Thai Fight, Max Muay thai etc.
3. A couple of guys on twitter talk alot about Tenshin and Takeru but never mention Prajanchai, Sangmanee, Panpayak

Ok, so what is the big problem for you? Is it that stadium fighters promote themselves towards gamblers and therefore get different kind of coverage? Is it that a couple of fight geeks on twitter prefer K-1 over stadiums? Is it that Yodsanklai and Buakaw are more famous in and outside thailand than Prajanchai?

And also, what would you like to be different than now? What would be a solution?

I know you're probably not going to agree with #2 but deep down you know it's true.

There are plenty of bland Muay Thai fights. Quit being such a shill.
The vast majority of stadium muay thai bouts have value as fights, they are real sporting contests. A sizeable chunk of the kickboxing and international muay thai bouts out there skate by solely on "story telling" or "production" or whatever other synonym you want to use for bullshit.

I'm not even talking about your average spectator I'm talking about hardcore kickfighting fans. These people mostly seem to prefer k1 to muay thai and know who Yodsanklai and Buakaw are but not Prajanchai. But as far as I can tell none of them even give stadium muay thai a chance, even though they claim to be muay thai fans. Don't know how you can pretend to be a muay thai fan and not care about the best fighters in the sport.

that's what I find funny. aside from all the sherdog drama, Rob keeping it real and everyone just ignoring his arguments because they can't argue against it.

Not when many of them are screwed through a dodgy scoring system dictated by gamblers.

Real sporting contests that are ran by gambling...

Why do you think that the fights are as closely matched as they are? It isn't for entertainment purposes.
Ya, because guys are taking off rounds and playing tag to make them close.

Are you arguing that gambling is making Muay Thai better? The evidence tends to prove otherwise...

it also isn't for the integrity and love for the sport. it's because of gambling, which brings many problems.

like i said earlier every argument rob presented about muaythai is also true for kickboxing. low crowds, low pay, disillusionment with the scoring system are all happening is kickboxing as well
