Former UFC fighter "War Machine" interviewed from prison

Damn. A skilled golfer could hit a ball to the next 7-11 around the block there's so many of em, just go to another
There is no logical sense to this, the guy is a contorting ball of rage at any percieved inconvenience. He was having a manic episode in that car, put it on YT, and left it up.

Who would sign a petiton to let this guy out after this lol

The guy is a pos, but i still can't believe he got life for beating up his pornstar girlfriend. Meanwhile there is people in chicago burning people alive that were roaming the streets after being arrested 72 times.

It's because of his prior arrests, and that he was also on probation.

He'd already done two prior year long stints in solitary for violent crimes.

And then he gets out and does worse shit, while on probation.

He was also completley unrepentant at trial, even taunting his girlfriend's mother.

The streets are safer with him in there, regardless of what they charge other people with.

Because of how confrontational he is, he had to do his first 3 yrs for the Christy mack beating, in solitary.

Lmao this gave me strong “Unforgivable” vibes if you’re ever seen those old YouTube videos.

“So then I dumped my Slurpee on the floor!!! So they’d have to clean it up”

Some other cliffs were

  • He initially didnt get along with Jared Rollins, but they wound up liking each other after the show ended, and felt bad about fighting and beating him, because he felt like he stole his spot. He cried after the fight was over.

  • He turned down some of Joe Silva's fight offers, saying that "If you want me to fight a tough guy, at least give me a name, your throwin me in there with a tough nobody" which he feels pissed Silva off and put him at odds with the UFC, although he always got along with Dana White himself.

  • He made some comment in theTUF house that Matt Serra was givin his boy Joe Scarola more attention than him. Word got back to Matt, and Matt confronted him to his face about it. "That guy is crazy, he gives no fucks"

I wonder does the crowd wishing death on War Machine here and the crowd defending that shithead who stabbed Irina Zarutskaya to death in the War room overlap, but I am too lazy to check.
Like, War Machine is certainly an asshole, but the reactions here seem rather harsh.

Audio is totally de-synced. What a pain.

He didn't just "beat up his pornstar girlfriend" - he beat her half to death completely re-arranging her face (and also beat the shit out of the dude she was with at the time). Technically he was convicted of 29 felonies, including kidnapping and sexual assault with a weapon, all while on probation with multiple prior convictions for violent assaults.

I don't know why it matters whether or not she's a "pornstar"; seems like you are including that to dismiss the assault as if he's less deserving of punishment because of that. And it's completely dismissive to bring up other people who deserve similar or worse punishments. Of course there are plenty of murderer's/rapists/etc. who didn't get life sentences for whatever reasons. It doesn't mean they didn't "deserve" it, that's not how the world works.

I thought the guy had more UFC fights with how much I've seen his name here. Crazy he won KO and fight of the night his first fight, then 5 months later gets subbed and never fights again. Oh just read it was cause he said Evan Tanner committed suicide on myspace, dude was the original internet cancelled guy.

Seems like some guys with screws loose just will continually fuck up, no matter what treatment once they have freedom. I've seen the same personalities just always do stupid shit. Probably would've been picked as candidates for electroconvulsive therapy like in one flew over the cuckoo's nest back in the day. We probably should have some crazy mental institutions like we had.

Still I think lack of forgiveness is horrible for a society and a way to collectively think, just a moral standpoint I've seen too many today hold it deep rooted and carry it over to slight mishaps with others around them. Just a hairpin excommunicating with slight actions or words they didn't like, and people will cheer it on. He's done some fucked up things, and I wouldn't want to be his neighbor or roommate, but let the guy live among fellow crazies in a controlled environment. He doesn't seem like he will change, but if he does I see it as true growth.

Didn't some lady marry him while he is locked up and somewhat recently have his babies or am I getting him mixed up with some other terrible person?
There is a HUGE subsection of women (mostly overweight American women) who are intentionally looking to hook up with prisoners and believe they can reform or heal them. It’s some alt version of Munchaussen imo. Fucking weirdos, the lot of them.

Like i said, the guy is a POS, but life seems pretty harsh. Its hilarious you think being on probation warrants getting a life sentence.

Keeping this dude behind bars actually saved someones life... the guy was going to kill sooner or later. Also, he was looking for a knife to finish off Mack. Bars are made for people like him.

It's hilarious you read my prior post and your takeaway is that I think "probation warrants a life sentence."

He had a history of violently assaulting people on a yearly basis for the better part of a decade. Then while on probation with a history of violent assaults he is convicted of 29 felonies including kidnapping and sexual assault with a weapon.

His history of legal issues included being found guilty in 2007 for striking and choking a man, resulting in probation. In 2008, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery. A 2009 conviction for attempted battery causing substantial bodily harm led to a jail sentence in 2010 and later more jail time for a probation violation. In 2010, he received a one-year jail sentence for felony assault convictions related to two bar fights in San Diego.

I think if you have a long history of being a violent maniac who can't control himself and then you break into someone's home and beat your girlfriend half-to-death it could certainly warrant a life sentence. If it was your daughter/sister/mother that he did that too you probably would have a different perspective, but because it was "his pornstar girlfriend" you seem pretty dismissive of the situation.

And again, I didn't say he "deserves" it since "deserves got nothing to do with it". He put himself in this position by acting like a violent maniac time and time again. I'm just not surprised based on the context of the assault and his history of violence that this was the outcome.

Hybristophilia is the term. I prefer “asking for it” but apparently you can’t say that now

What’s crazy is those two bonuses netted him a total of $30,000.
