I don’t know if anyone follows him on social media but he uploaded a video a couple days ago and he’s struggling to string sentences together..

especially towards the end when he’s driving his car, I don’t remember him having that many brutal wars but he sounds punch drunk?

Those Garcia wars took some years off him it seems, suprised he has 17 losses and only 4 being KO's but that only tells one half of the story I suppose, whenever I saw him fight he seemed to be slugging it out with someone, all of his UFC fights went to a decision it seems.

Daaaammmnnn dude.. that is rough. I wonder if he can tell something’s different in his brain or speech or if it gradual enough that you don’t notice or just deny it. Seeing this kind of long term damage is the worst thing about mma

You gotta be smart with how you spar and fight man too many gym wars and going into fights and swinging will do this to you sadly.

Strange how it can impact some people and not others.

Chris Leben is known for being in slug fests and absolute wars, is still competing now for bare knuckle fc yet his speech seems pretty much unaffected. But I’d say he has taken more damage fighting than Nam Phan.

Must be the sparring.

Damn thats rough. Heres a video when he sounded normal.

That’s a really substantial difference, I feel for the guy... After a 25 year military career I’m having issues related to past head trauma, not nearly as bad and I’m 10 years older... point is, I can sympathize with him... a big part of the problem is after the initial damage is done it takes years up to a decade for the tau proteins to enough damage to the brain for the beginning effects to take hold. Once that occurs you can expect the symptoms to increase at a rate that is relevant to the type and length of trauma received.

Not Nam Phan lol. Dude was cool as hell on the show. Suspected of jerking off in the TUF house lmao. All those wars with Garcia...

He's definitely affected by something. There are more possibilities than just CTE, though.

These are the risks you take and the consequences some unlucky people have when you are a professional fighter..
