Ok so yes I know Colby is always in character and obviously he is holding onto this image that he won the 2nd Usman fight and pretending everyone thought he won. Yesterday I decided to watch it and see for myself. In my memory I thought it was close but Usman definitely should have been declared the winner. Also I don't know about you guys but I love re-watching fights because it's almost NEVER like I remembered it. I think we all go into watching fights with some bias and having a desire to see a certain fighter win. Anyway...

Round 1 - Pretty uneventful but Usman landed a little more and pushed the pace more. Colby seemed to have a slow start and seemed tentative. 10-9 Usman

Round 2 - Usman landed some huge shots and dropped him TWICE and ended the round with Colby face down just blasting him in the ribs with hard shots. That's a 10-8 in my eyes without a doubt.

Round 3 - Colby is having his best round so far. Getting more comfortable and starting to land some shots and utilize his wrestling a little. I'd honestly say that Usman won most of this round but Colby won the last 2 min pretty convincingly. Now I am no judge and correct me please if I am wrong but I thought the winner of the round gets 10 points the loser 9 or less. I believe if you think the round was a draw you can do a 9-9 to me this round was a 9-9.

Round 4 - Colby won this round clearly. Landed the better shots and even stunned Usman a few times, Higher volume and his best round yet. 10-9 Colby

Round 5 - Looked a lot like round 4 but maybe a little bit closer but to me Colby also clearly won a 10-9 with round 5. 10-9 Colby

Usman 47 - Colby 46 in my opinion is the proper score for this fight. Round 3 is the real question mark and it's when Colby starts to turn the corner and really put it all together in the 2nd fight. I really just think that round was a draw BUT even if you score round 3 for Colby I don't see how you can say round two was not a 10-8 for Usman therefore at best Colby would have a draw but still can't say he even beat Usman. For what it's worth i'd like to see colby get a 3rd fight and win the title.

I totally agree with you. It was a pretty good and entertaining fight, but no doubt in my mind that Usman won the bout. I really like and appreciate Colby as a fighter, but I truly believe that Usman has a couple notches on Colby as an MMA fighter.

You're correct, Usman won. Credit to Colby for accepting he lost, showing respect to his father, and not running out of the building like a jackass though.

I had it 49-45 for Usman giving Colby only the 4th round.
Think you could give Colby the 5th or the 3rd but to give him both those rounds is a bit biased. Rounds were pretty close but I always had the impression Usman was in control.

It almost seems to me like Colby figured out in round 3 that in order to beat Usman he has to kind of throw caution to the wind and be more aggressive in the pocket and exchanges. He get's in and gets out and by fighting like that he kind of made Usman a little uncomfortable and he couldn't really pick his shots that well anymore. That said... while that may be the path to victory he still is putting himself in the fire by fighting that way and there were MANY punches in the 2nd fight from Usman that just missed by centimeters that I think would have basically put Colby to sleep the same way he slept Usman. It really is an intriguing match up.

Usman won. Colby did come closest to beating Usman though and he got better in the later rounds. There might be a chance Colby beats Usman in a third fight but I doubt that will ever be made.

Agreed. The fight was competitive but not close. Colby basically needed a finish to win after the 3rd round.

Round 4 was the only round Colby definitively won. Round 2 was 10-8, Usman won round 3. And I gave him round round 5 also, but that was a tough one to score.

I have the 10-8 2nd also. Had CC 3, 4, 5.
47-47 draw. Admittedly watched as a Colby fan.

Ready to see both of them fight Lucque, Brady, Shavkat, khamzat. Burns, and Wonderboy for Colby.

Been a fan of Colby a long time, still think he gets the belt b4 the window closes.

I actually watched it the other day on mute. One thing you have wrong is that a round that's a draw is scored 10-10, and these almost never happen. If they didn't score the first round of Izzy/Romero 10-10, then idk what could be scored 10-10.

I had Usman edging Colby in Round 3. Colby had a few moments, but I think Usman did the better work and had a bit more volume.

Round 4 was Colby all day

Round 5 was a coinflip. Giving it to either guy wouldn't be wrong.

Scorecards were accurate. 49-46 or 48-47 Usman is the correct scorecard, unless of course you scored the 2nd round 10-8, in which case the final scores would be 49-45 or 48-46.

I dont remember exactly how I scored it, but I do remember thinking it was clearly 10-9 and 10-8 for Usman in the opening two rounds, and that he would only have to take one round to win, or lose all three for it to be a draw.

I dont believe Colby won rounds 3,4,5. So imo no way that Usman didnt win it. Close sure, but for Colby at the very best a draw.

Another reason why I hate MMA scoring.

Colby holding on for dear life riding out the round while getting pounded to the body after getting dropped twice = 2 rounds in which Colby may've edged out the champ.

Respect for acting like an adult?

I haven’t watched recently but when I watched live I said you have to give Colby the benefit of the doubt in every close situation to give him that fight. You can’t give Usman a 10-8 and you have to score rounds 3 and 5 for him as well. That’s a lot of borderline things to give to him and if you don’t give just one he doesn’t win.

Colby knows he didn’t win that fight. He’s just keeping the gimmick. Either Usman won or at worst it was a draw, that 2nd round was definitely a 10-8. You could make an argument Usman won the 3rd & 5th too. The only round you can definitively give Colby is the 4th.

2nd round is not a 10-8, He was never close to being finished. Scoring criteria isn't based on what you think is right. The rules for judging are clear.

That's how I saw it.
Colby put up a formidable effort and all credit towards him for that, especially after getting basically flash KO'd twice in a row.

That being said, I scored it for Usman.
At best I could score a draw for Colby, but that's being EXTREMELY generous.

Wanted Colby to win and I thought and still think Usman won the 2nd fight.

I actually think the first fight was much closer and much more competitive before Usman cracked his jaw.
