For Squirrels where a mid 90s grunge band. It was grunge but more melodic than most at the time.
In 1995 they got picked up by Sony and released Example.
The first single off of that album was "The Mighty KC".... KC for Kurt Cobain. The song talks about his death and death in general.... but not in a morose way (another reason they weren't a typical 90s grunge band).
Before a proper video for "The Mighty KC" could be made the bands lead singer and bassist died in a van accident after a concert.
A video was released but with old footage of the band members pieced together. Alittle ironic since it was about death, about a dead guy, and now two of the members were dead themselves.
