For anyone that thinks Usman is above GSP already...

The main stat to me is the quality of competition. As of now, Usman has only beaten 1 current or former champion in Tyrone Woodley. GSP has 2 wins over Hughes, 2 wins of Penn, and 1 each over Serra, Sherk, Hendricks, Bisping and Condit albeit he was interim. That is 9 wins over former world champs. Throw in a solid wins over Jake Shields, Nick Diaz, Prime Josh Koscheck 2x and Jon Fitch and the comparison isn't really even close.

GSP is obviously above Usman legacy wise

UFC is just creating a narrative cause its stirs the pot and creates interest

Id even go as far as to say if Usman beats his next 2-3 opponents and retires hes still not beating GSP's legacy

How did you arrive at 120 victories from Matt? Matt has a record of 45-9.
(I didn’t check any other numbers btw - neither in your post nor the OPs.)

Can't use that argument considering GSP fought his fair share of LWs (Sherk, Penn, Diaz, and Serra).
Diaz is no lw he even force robbie to move up cause he couldn't do 170 also gsp would be a 155er in this current era

Let’s discuss the main fact that matters, such as who would win in an MMA contest.

I have no doubt in my mind that Usman makes easy work of GSP.

I think Colby or kamaru finish Khamzat he too cocky he really still hasn’t faced any1 good yet wins impressive but even in that last fight his rnc was weak li could have got out but he didn’t even use his hands to fight which is white belt lvl technique let’s see him face someone who can give him adversity n how he react to it

I want to see Khamzat vs Colby coaching TUF.

The shit talk will be unreal.

Let's put some context to those inflated ass numbers:

  • GSP spent 32.14% of his entire career against only 4 people. 9 fights with a record of 7-2, 7 of those were title fights with a record of 5-2.
  • Unique opponents during title reign: 8, yet only 14 out of 23 UFC fights (60.87%) were against unique opponents for GSP. Usman has had 11 unique opponents out of 15 UFC fights (78.57%)
  • Victories over UFC champs for GSP: 2 over Hughes, 2 over Penn, 1 over Serra, 1 over Bisping. He has a loss to both Hughes and Serra, which is the only reason Serra was ever champ. One victory over Penn is widely seen as a robbery. Lots of repeat victories, and Hughes is always inflating all of GSP's numbers, most notably the next one:
  • 438-80 combined record of UFC opponents - 120 victories (27.4% of the total) are from Matt Hughes alone.

Fuckin GSP fanatics are the absolute worst bunch of pathetic nerd trolls in Sherdog history. Fuckin hell.
Amazing stats, good job!

He fought him 3 times. He had 37, 41, and 42 victories in each of their fights. This is also why GSP always scores so highly in SoS stats. Hughes is a massive outlier that single handedly increases the shit out of GSP's stats.

The unique opponent stat is what’s important.

beating Jorge twice doesn’t mean shit to me

GSP had 9 fights against only 4 people. 32.14% of his entire career was spent against only 4 people. 7 of those fights were title fights, and he's 5-2 in those bouts. Two of his 9 title defenses were against one of these four people, he acquired his title twice, and lost it once, against the other two. GSP lost his first title shot and his first defense, starting his championship career 1-2. Usman is 6-0 in title fights.

Hendricks wasn't champ until after the GSP fight, although he should've been champ after beating GSP. Serra would've never been ranked or a champion if he didn't beat GSP. Sherk was LW champ for a minute. You want to count Condit, as an interim champ, for GSP, but discard 2 victories for Usman over Colby? Seems pretty biased here, bud, even though I agree that GSP edges Usman in overall quality of opposition, but it's very subjective and not nearly as lopsided as the fanatics would suggest. Weird.

I only speak in facts on this topic. All of the aforementioned fighters were current, former or would be champs when GSP fought them.

I would put Covington on the same level as Jon Fitch, a guy who would likely be champ if it wasn't for Usman, similar to Fitch with GSP.

You listed Hendricks and Sherk as former champions. That is incorrect, and you failed to mention Sherk being stripped of his title (that he acquired a year after fighting GSP) for pissing hot.

Colby is a former interim champion, and you didn't list him for Usman, but you wanted to list Condit for GSP. Biased double standards.
