Right, but he can just choose to retire and walk away. He's not the regular UFC fighter who has no money in the bank and no ability to earn money outside of the UFC, so the UFC have to respect that as a serious option if they chose to shut the Mayweather fight down.

It's in everyone's best interest that this fight is made. Fighter retirements are historically a joke, and even after the Mayweather fight it's highly probable that Conor gets the itch to come back to the UFC anyway.

He can retire and walk away however he will be under the champions clause which states that they cannot join or fight in another combat sport for 1 or 2 years.

otherwise don't you think he would have done that already? and gotten more money out of the fight as the UFC wont be involved? think buddy before you speak.

its in everyones best interest? i dont see how Mcgregor taking a fight outside of the UFC in another sport is going to benefit anyone except himself? the pay in the UFC is still going to be the same.
