Floyd v Dana: Shots Fired!

Interesting, can't wait to hear Dana's side.

Heard the tale before, no reason to disbelieve Floyd.

This isn't new. Floyd helped Dana make some money by wearing his company's patch on his trunks. Floyd is very generous to the people he has around him, and Dana was once one of those people.

It is kinda funny how Floyd says, "He was a nice guy, a nice square guy. Now he shaved his head and acts rugged and tough," or something like that.

It's also very telling that when Floyd was asked about all these UFC fighters, he completely ignored the fighters, and responded directly about the CEO. Floyd doesn't see himself on the same level as anybody in the UFC.

that's because he isn't

Floyd keeping that name out there, all this stuff is just silly. "I'm not racist but racism still exists." Yeah, because morons like you keep bringing it up over and over again for no reason and reminding people of that.

Yeah, racism exists because people bring it up. If only people would pretend it doesn't exist, it would go away. Lol.

You're missing the point, dude is crying about racism unprovoked. Can't stand when people play the racism card constantly, makes me sick. Especially someone who made half a billion dollars and used race to help sell his fights.

He pointed out what he believes to be a double standard. He did not say anything that sounded like "crying" or even anything that seemed like an attack.

I'm also not sure how you could consider it unprovoked, being that McGregor and various other UFC fighters have been running their mouths about Mayweather non-stop for years. That is a pretty direct provocation.

Conor then responded to Mayweather with a fairly direct death threat about burying him in the desert (only weeks after being photographed with an assault rifle), which kind of proved Mayweather's racial double-standard point.

Goes both ways, Floyd has been taking subtle shots at mma fighters for years too, hilarious that people only see it one way. The whole thing is stupid, the media is the culprit here but people are too stupid to see it. Plenty of people hate Conor and Ronda for being cocky and arrogant, look at the backlash Ronda received after getting knocked out. People didn't like Floyd because he's not a good person and he flaunts his wealth, that simple.

People didn't like Floyd because of his personality, not because he's black. That's true. It's fairly easy to be an athlete who is black and likable by being a good person. But that's not the whole story.

But the difference is, when Conor flashes guns and makes death threats, people laugh it off and say he's confident and has personality. Those are the words they used, laughingly, to describe McGregor on ESPN the other day.

When a black athlete does that, he is called a troubled young man and a thug. Black athletes have to go out of their way to prove they aren't thugs, while white athletes have to go out of their way to prove they aren't role models. It's a pretty clear double standard, and that part of Floyd's statement was accurate.

Again, the media is the culprit for that. I don't know but I'm assuming that most major media outlets are ran by old white men. I don't even watch the news because it is too agenda driver, everything is racially driven or a bunch of negativity that is designed to drive fear into the hearts of the weak minded. Floyd brought almost all of his heat onto himself by being a shitty person. I'm not defending Conor, it was stupid for him to use that airsoft gun but it wasn't real. The media is constantly looking for headlines so they prompt Floyd, Conor and Ronda with these stupid questions and they simply answer them, then people overreact to them. I'm sure deep down that those fighters respect each other because they know how much work it takes to be at the top of your sport.

Not everyone says that about Conor, much like Floyd he is hated as much, if not more, than he is liked. Conor is not called a thug because he doesn't have that personality or style. If Nick or Nate Diaz flashed a toy gun they would be called thugs and troubled because they actually have that personality. Stop making it about race. On the flip side blacks themselves do the SAME THING to their own race but in reverse, you often hear guys like Russel Wilson or RG3 not being "black enough" because they don't dress like rappers or talk with an urban accent.

Conor flashes toy guns, makes death threats about burying people in the desert, uses derogatory language every time he opens his mouth, and flashes money. Which part is not "thug" behavior by the media's standard? Only the Irish part.

The Diaz brothers are hispanic, not white.

The rest of your post has nothing to do with what I said.

Hispanic is not back, which is all you referenced. So this applies to all minorities now? The point is not about race or ethnicity it's about how they act. Nate/Nick act like thugs all around. They aren't "playing" around or having fun, that's who they are. so they get labeled as such. It's obvious conor is playing around when he does and says these things. Jon Jones never gets labeled as a thug, if anything he was being labeled as a snitch and disliked by other blacks for not being "urban" enough. Mighty Mouse would never receive the thug label, neither would nerdy Dodson or Cormier. It's not about race it's about personality and perceived image based on their style/actions/postings/etc.

And the 2nd part does have to do with what you said. Because if you don't like blacks being generalized as thugs then don't generalize the "not black enough" athletes as uncle toms. Until blacks stop generalizing themselves in that way they have no leg to stand on on the other side.

"stop labeling black athletes thugs because they are confident, have urban accents and clothing choices and enjoy rap music"
"ok, then stop labeling black athletes as uncle toms because they speak proper english and don't listen to rap and dress in suits and polos"
"that's different"

you in a nutshell
