Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor PBP (Discussion)

Macgregor gassed simple as that. Not sure how this makes him look like a failure to the sport of mma or as a man.

Mayweather or any boxing professional making a similar transition to mma wouldn't have lasted two mma rounds.

Cmon don't shame macgregor for tonight. And I'm not even a Conner fan at heart.

The guy made it to the 10th round with floyd mayweather jnr and wasn't getting smashed by his usual defensive strategy. Floyd went after him because connor was actually doing quite well among other things.
 
It would have been very fascinating if Conor actually had good cardio.

Not really. Floyd went after him because the danger was gone. Nothing was coming back at him. And Floyd almost never does that.

Floyd is patient and gets his timing then unleashes his arsenal, when he starts leading that right I always knew he had his opponent figured out. He started really doing that in RD 5 or 6 tonight, I think.

I think UFC fans thought that Floyd could turn on his Mike Tyson 1 touch KO power. They're wrong, that's not Floyd's style, the fact that he went for the KO tonight was impressive.

No doubt. But honestly Nate sapped Conor much faster. I just don't think boxers are that much better than MMA guys..

Conor stood toe to toe with him for half an hour and this is supposed to be the best boxer of all time.

In a real fight, Tyson could learn all the TDD he wanted, Liddell would kill him.

It's on both sides, really. A lot of Conor fans who actually thought he was going to win are now falling back to the "moral victory" narrative.

On the other hand, I definitely don't remember tons of "Floyd's going to wait until round 10, losing several along the way, before he wins via superior cardio" boasts from Mayweather supporters before the fight. Many were saying he'd make short, easy work of McGregor.

Both are equally embarrassing.

There's a difference between patience and sandbagging
 
They were both hanging out all chummy after the fight. Mayweather likes to start slow anyway. I think this was pretty much the obvious result.

Fans are probably satisfied, Conor hung in there and gets a lot of credit for doing it, Mayweather gets his record and the tko, both guys come out looking good under the circumstances and they both made a killing. I wasnt going to pay for that but I think in pretty much any way it matters it was a success
