Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor PBP (Discussion)

That was embarrassing for boxing man.

Floyd is literally 40 years old, retired, and on the shelf for two years.

He's also several weight divisions smaller than Conor, and a defensive boxer, not a puncher. He hasn't properly knocked someone out in ten years.

Despite all that, he casually let Conor punch himself out, then walked him down and beat him up until the referee decided Conor had enough brain damage.

It was an exhibition match with a retired boxer. Nothing to see, just entertainment.

Conor would get hurt, again, but sooner, if he fought someone his size that is an active, ranked, professional boxer.

I wish McGregor had the condition he need to go 12 rounds because all the haters would be silent right now, and every chance Mayweather would have 1 next to the 49, he did better up to the 10 round then some world champion boxers have, but most of all he made that fight entertaining as fuck, the only reason Floyd was chasing him is because McGregor was taking to many round of him....

Boxers are not trolling and calling MMA fighters out. For some reason it's insecure ass MMA fighters and their shitty fucking fans calling out boxers. Conor called Floyd out and got schooled/TKOed. You guys look PATHETIC AS FUCK trying to spin this shit. Just accept the loss like fucking men, if you even have balls. For fuck's sake!

Seemed like an early stoppage but probably would have ended up that way either way.

Connor showed well, IMO. Never had a boxing match goes against the GOAT and won some rounds, Mayweather has beaten true professional boxer worse than that.

The last time floyd put someone away (other than Ortiz in '11 who's hands were down and wasn't looking) was Hatton in '07.

Good fight. Everybody's happy. All is right with the world.

You were wrong originally when you didn't even realize the 30 million number didn't include PPV cut...you are wrong again. Show me the article where it says Conor is giving half his purse to WME....I'll wait.

Stop being so sure your opinion is reality, you're an idiot.

He's a wildin out fucktard

I didn't think Connor was going to last two rounds. He did good. The end looked a little premature, but whatever. They made their money.

It would be nice if Overeem had a chin, then he would rule HW! Stop living in a fantasy land. Conor has always had suspect cardio and he should have managed his output better. Boxing is usually a thinking man's game at the highest level.

He won maybe 3 out of the opening 4 rounds where Floyd was sitting back calm as anything, just scanning the data and letting people get excited. I was impressed with the uppercut he landed, but he had nothing for Floyd. Not power, not technique, not fight iq.

He was the p4p best boxer on the planet less than two years ago. You're utterly delusional if you think all those skills suddenly vanish just because he retired.

I don't think you're delusional. More likely, you just don't want to give credit to 0-0 Conor for not being dominated by one of the greatest talents boxing has ever seen.

Conor actually did WORSE than I thought he would. I knew FLoyd would be jittery early on, but Conor didn't press.

How the hell are you gassed by round 6 with your elite MMA coniditioning? Especially considering Floyd can't crack an egg, being small, being 40, etc.

It got embarrassingly bad in there for Conor. He looked like a milkbag by round 5.

Why wasn't he unloading when he had Floyd turtled up? Made no sense.

The only people who were delusional are those who thought this was going to be a competitive fight. Despite Conor being much larger, much younger and an actually active fighter, there was no hope.

I thought Mayweather would take an easy decision, because he legit hasn't knocked anyone out in TEN YEARS. It's not what he does.

Since this was an exhibition level match for him, he decided to go ahead and just take him out, and he did it as casually as you and I decide what to eat for breakfast.

It was a fun exhibition match. It's dangerous to book these sort of mismatches, and Conor took some brain damage, so I don't think it should be a regular thing, but so much money was available to everyone involved, it happened.

Not much else to say.
