Right now, this is under the category of potential super-fight rather than just super-fight. A super-fight should be understood to mean a fight between two super athletes that is already signed, and ready to be officially promoted.

Good points, I agree. You think the UFC could ever work with Mayweather on setting this up? I'm doubtful, only because Mayweather would want way more than Dana is willing to give.

Yes. He is. In order to make this fight happen, Mayweather would first have to promote the idea of this fight, and he would have to do this mostly by himself without the help of McGregor because McGregor is under contract with the UFC. Thus, McGregor can side-step the UFC and enter a super-fight by having another athlete do the majority of the pre-fight promotions.

Basically, it comes down to the UFC cannot sue anyone for a breach of contract that is not under contract with them.

Mayweather is his own organization.

Secondly, when fans ask McGregor about a super-fight with Mayweather, McGregor can't necessarily back out of the fight because it makes him look weak, and this could result in the UFC looking weak.


Promoting the idea of this fight, and then promoting the actual fight, are two very different things, and both super athletes as well as all parties involved are walking a very fine line. However, all parties involved in this know what they are doing, or else they wouldn't be in the successful positions that they are currently in.

This is hard to say because Dana White likes to promote the UFC brand exclusively while Mayweather appears to be able to promote MMA, and boxing.

I won't say the UFC won't work with Mayweather on this fight, but you can bet all parties involved will be looking to maximize revenues. This is where problems can arise because Mayweather is a full blown celebrity, and McGregor is not necessarily at his level of fame or money.
 
Truth be told Conor could reignite his feud with Aldo in the next year. Sit cage side when he fights Edgar, get into the cage and hype that shit up.. He should be focused on realistic options..

Yeah you pretty clearly don't know shit about Boxing if you think thats how it would go. Connor is a shit Boxer. Not even a top 1000 WW in the world. Floyd has KOd way better boxers then Conor. Floyd may struggle to finish the best Boxers in the world, but Conor is an amateur who would give Floyd counters and openings he hasn't seen since he was a teen. There would be no "running" or "hugging". There would be Conor throwing a unbalanced predictable left that Floyd counters right away for the KO. Floyd could literally do anything he wants to Conor in a boxing match

I mean, be realistic. McGregor is about twenty pounds heavier than Mayweather, longer than him, much younger and hits extremely hard.

Floyd is not going to spoil his perfect record getting KO'd by an inferior but far, far more physical striker – which is what would happen, guaranteed – when he already has hundreds of millions in the bank.

Yeah, I totally agree, but I think Mayweather, and McGregor might actually be planning something behind the scenes. The one thing that McGregor has going for him is that he is a very popular fight, and person.

McGregor built his brand without necessarily using the UFC's help. McGregor is in a unique positions that not many fighters have been in, and I think McGregor is even bigger than Rousey.

Canelo and Maidana both had over 20LBs on Floyd and they were both 1000 times better boxers then Conor
 
Conor is getting tore the f up we all know that. Let's face it, he's just in it for the money at this point. Nothing wrong with it.
 
I hope Mayweather vs McGregor doesn't happen for McGregor's safety. The man took down The Big Show!!
