I'm not afraid. In a way it reminds me of the Leicester vaccine protests of over 100 years ago. Most in that large UK city wouldn't be vaccinated due to serious side effects being reported. Many in the news were predicting that as a result Leicester would see a large outbreak of diseases. It didn't happen. The vaccine protest lasted for 60 years yet no significant disease outbreak occurred.

If it might help with fears, a book I'm currently read in about the spreading of diseases, specifically the flu and influenza. Most studies that have been done have not been able to pass on diseases to others. Scientists have gone to extreme measures to infect others with diseases yet mysteriously nearly every time the disease could not be given. It remains a mystery.

I am assuming your son is healthy (thank goodness) or you would have mentioned it. Maybe it wasn't excessive, huh?

This is why we have doctors and experts, because unless you are a doctor with years and years of expertise/education you aren't in a position to determine what is and isn't excessive. This isn't aimed towards you but I don't understand the trend of people rejecting science and experts for the opinions and conspiracy theories from people like RFK Jr and others that aren't experts in these fields.

My son's 17, he's has had every shot recommended including all covid shots , he's the peak of health and intelligence, hell he's only had one or two colds since about grade 4 , it can empty out half his classroom and he comes out unscathed

That’s not how herd immunity works. I’d certainly speak with my physician as to whether I should get a new measles vax or other vaxxes if I was going to travel there—but I prefer to just not travel there.

My neighbor has a full blown non-verbal autistic kid, he's 9 and still behaves like a toddler. Has complete meltdowns when his schedule is altered or is faced with something unexpected. Can't handle loud or annoying noises.

And she's not the only friend I know with autistic children

Autism certainly existed it just wasn’t diagnosed as often because the medical definition at the time was much more narrow.

We already know that vaccines don’t cause autism, it’s not even a question.
