Exactly, if it was just this one in Memorial to the victims of the nightclub. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with it, but it’s the fact that they’re rubbing your noses in it at every step. I agree 100%, but there is a happy middle ground between going into hiding, and waving that stupid flag in everyone's face everywhere you turn.

The happy middle ground is that gay people just go on about their lives just like straight people, no one gives a shit whether I'm into blowjobs or rimjobs, and I don't need to tell anyone which hole I like to stick it in. It's just played out, most people are ok with gay people existing, and the few that are not have no voice in the mainstream, it's really a non issue until you make it one by rubbing people's noses in it at every turn. Considering this was just a painted crosswalk, I'd say the local government. It'll be them that needs to maintain it and repaint it every time its gets a tire mark on it because to screechy virtue signaling douchebags (such as yourself) will consider THAT some form of bigotry too.

Sure, but I would argue that shoving more rainbow colors in people’s faces can only provoke the next psychopath to lash out at them again. I think pushing that agenda is in large part the reason it happened in the first place.

Mateen wasn't necessarily targeting the gay community. He wanted to kill Americans. He went to several places the day of the shooting, including Disney World, but kept backing out due to the amount of police/security in the area. When he arrived at Pulse Nightclub, he first went inside and scoped the place out before returning to his car to get his weapon. I'm sure he considered it a bonus that it was a gay club, but his desire to murder Americans didn't come from the visibility of the gay community. He was just a radical Islamist and an absolute piece of shit human being.

I always champion lgbt = religon, so I will actually admit I think you have a VERY good take that rainbow flags in federal buildings or public streets is too far. It would be like adding the 10 commandments or whatever imo, to the left. I am opposed to that, so I think I have to be opposed to rainbows in similar situations, even if it seems petty.
