Fix This Spam Bot Problem - White Belts Shouldn't Be Able to Make Threads

I'm not an IT expert but have you guys considered that it could be all the CTE leaking from Anthony Smith's brain now he's retired that's causing this?
 
Mods are pretty good at adjusting to the state of the boards. If no one's making threads, might as well let the white belts have at it. If it gets too much like stupid threads "______ fighters did okay in UFC" that trash needs to be removed. I hate to make threads so the more that carry the torch the better.

Unfortunately I see this in other places as well.

I have been trying to figure out the "why"
not sure if its just the whole comment section thing
or if its just that discord has become the 1 stop forum shop paired with reddit?

it does suck to see the places slowly going down
Sherdog is in MUCH better shape than the others I am referencing
but all the same, some real long time friendships and communities are all slowly going into the pasture.
 
if white belt couldn't make threads this forum would be dead, and also, instead of having shit threads by white belt you would have 150 shit posts by the same white belt to get the right to make threads, not worth it imo

I'm not saying it should take thousands of posts before you can make threads, but we should just have this bare minimum guardrail to protect against the lowest-effort spam bots. The cost to legitimate users would be basically zero

This place is so dead they will take any traffic they can get. May as well just merge UFC discussion and Worldwide MMA at this point. I am sick of seeing the same threads on the the main page for a week at a time.

Sherdog is dying.
 
I've been saying this for a while now. People also create fake accounts to create troll threads. We already have people who have been here for years doing it with their actual account, but whatever. White belt threads are hardly ever good and would eliminate a couple problems.
 
Ban white belts threads.

The site has progressively gone downhill.
Like many other message boards.

There was a rule against whitebelt threads.

Then some mods decided to let random non-ufc discussion dominate this area of the board.
They were aware, and messaging about how reports were rejected and suddenly white belt threads took over. Mike Tyson rape apologist threads, Jake Paul crap, etc...

It all began a long time ago around Ronda and Brock but got a lot worse around COVID-19.

It's been one disaster decision after another since then... Someone is making the decisions to destroy the board with advertising, layout changes, white belt threads, it has dwindled the play by plays, ruined the content separation, and opened the door to bots.

Simple solution...

No more white belt threads.

Don't forget the like purge because the site, in 2021 or whatever, "couldn't handle it". I couldn't care less about those but apparently a LOT of other people did...

The Ads are also a MAJOR turn-off for new people I would imagine. I know 2 people I got to sign up and start posting here since they just started following the UFC, and both told me a week later that they won't set foot here because of them
