Elections First Presidential Debate Discussion: 9/26/16

Who won the debate?

trump won first 1/3rd of debate then went off rails. His strong points were in shitting all over hillaries trade deals and bringing up the real argument that many companies leave america due to saving money and hilaries idea of taxing those companies further while furthering regulations against them while also having horrid trade deals in place that allow other countries to tax us on our exports while we do not tax them on our imports is stupid and costing us money. She had no response for any of that other then raising taxes on rich is good. So trump definitely won that portion

But then it was all down hill for trump. Dodging questions, not presenting enough actual ideas on either foreign or domestic change, allowing himself to get riled up and emotional, not capitalizing on opportunities to call out hillary enough all while Hillary reinforced her stance that she has actual experience and ties to world leaders.

Basically if you vote hillary you get a status quo president who wont rock the boat and will probably allow foreign nations to continue to take advantage of us. If you vote trump, you vote for a guy with few real plans and thats fucking scary.

If you want to get rid of NATO you're going to need to bring in the big guns, the GOAT negotiator who taught all the other good negotiators now to negotiate, Stevan Sigalović.

Seriously. You wouldn't believe me how many people here think Steven is legit. I wanted to smash my TV when all that Seagal farce was going on in Serbia. That shit was embarrassing.

My dad wanted to sign me up for aikido when I was a kid. Even as a kid I was like: "Aikido? {<doc}...that shit is fake, I ain't doing that"

I haven't seen much of Alavarez, but I've heard the reverse (mostly from Rogan). That this was a poor match up for Conor, where Alvarez has a good chin (?) and has the ability to decide where this fight will end up (on the canvas).

I've watched all Alvarez' pro fights. His chin is good in terms of recovery, although not as good as it used to be. Even in the fights he won he usually got dropped. Sometimes repeatedly.
He has a tendency to get into wide swinging exchanges. He is fighting more intelligently these days, employing his wrestling better, but I think a fast, straight, powerful and accurate counterstriker is an issue for him.
That said, he walked through RDS, and I thought RDS chin would win that fight.

Hmm, yeah chins definitely don't get better with exposure.

My understanding though is that this will be the first test Conor faces against an in-shape D1 wrestler. In the Mendez fight, it seemed like he was able to get Conor down at will, but he gassed early (short notice?) and just likes to give stomach BJs when he's on top. The one thing I've seen from Alavarez though is his fusion reactor gas tank, and not much of a lay and pray type.

I also like how Ford responded to the debate by going

"What? We're not moving to Mexico, hey fuck you"

i dont know what trump has said in past, but tonight he simply said ford was moving their small cars division to mexico, not that ford itself was leaving america. He brought it up while discussing how companies are leaving america and hilaries tax plan would further encourage it and his tax plan would encourage those companies staying. Nothing to call him for on that.

I don't know how anyone with a working brain could say Clinton looked bad tonight.

I don't even like Clinton and she looked like a pro and trump looked like a total CHUMP

To me Alvarez's big problem is he tends to get pretty wild. He has managed to be pretty composed in his last few fights, but Connor has shown a good ability to make people abandon winning strategies.

I favor Alvarez to win, more than I would if Conor was facing RDA, but I think Conor has a solid chance as well to nail Alvarez coming in. Remember, Conor does not have great TDD, but it is not near as bad as I think some like to say.

Yeah, if Conor doesn't stop him, I can't imagine Alvarez gassing in the championship rounds like Conor has.

Lmfao I love how seriously he's taken in the countries that are not friendly with America. I love it almost as much as that bloated faker loves it.

Her detailed analysis on how to bring communities and police together wrecked his saying 'law and order' 30 times. She gently mocked that vapid repetition. Wrecked him on having his hands on the nuclear arsenal. 'someone who gets his jimmies rustled on twitter'. Really exposed his complete lack of knowledge on international affairs. She unbalanced him on his taxes. Brought his sexism out in the open. Brought up his shady business dealings, not paying people - Even Republican voters liked that. That's going to really hurt him. A lot of his voters are lower middle class who know what it's like to get stiffed on a payment. Then she elegantly tied that practice to his oft expressed desire to renig on international agreements. It was pretty brutal.

On the other end, Trump was almost undecipherable after the first 20 minutes.

She didn't give a detailed analysis and saying "systematic racism" doesn't combat anything. You have to go after the actual racist people in positions. I realized you are bias like most in here who are voting but you slurping up the he's sexist , racist and a bad businessman makes your opinion look weak.

Says the guy with the upside down flag. I like this country, and think it will be more wonderful when Hillary becomes president.

I love what my country is supposed to be. That traitor doesn't work for the American people, and it has been a long time since we had a president that did.

You maybe OK with going to war in Vietnam for rubber and lies, or in iraq for oil and lies, but I am not.

Clinton brags about Kissinger supporting her. That is like a Democrat bragging that Dick Cheney endorsed them. You are willfully ignorant.
