As incredible and impressive as was, it was purpose-built, though, right? So, not really a computer in the modern (i.e. general purpose programmable) sense in that case.

I remember when my dad brought home a Toshiba 244mhz with color, and my mind was blown.
Same. I still remember that annoying sound the tapes played when loading games, which took a couple of minutes and more often than not crashed during the loading screen!. You also had to play the tape at a specific volume, otherwise the game wouldn't load. I remember having to write down different volumes for different games. The 80's were fun.This but it barely counts as a computer although it was and it predates the commodore 64 of the TS.
