I did a thread earlier on your first tape, CD, etc... but do you remember your first computer?

My parents bought me a C64 when I was a kid that was awesome. But, I bought my first computer for myself when I went to grad. school. It was Pentium 386 266 Mhz CPU with something like a 2 GB hard drive, 32 MB of RAM, and a 4 MB video card. I'm pretty sure most of that is correct. I thought I'd never fill the hard drive back then. It also came with VGA, 14" CRT monitor. Cost about $2k too.

Mines was in about year 1999 or 2000 and it was a Dell. I remember having a good time playing pinball with it. used to blast the subwoofer as well paid about 1600 for it and now you can get a good PC for about 800 or 900. Imagine that. Even good laptops you can get for 400

This but it barely counts as a computer although it was and it predates the commodore 64 of the TS.

Commodore 64 baby!

my friend’s dad had a Kaypro something or other and we did some Basic coding on that. Played this game Zork a lot too.

I also remember Packard Bell and Windows 95. Never used DOS?

Nah, I was with Windows until 2006ish then I went to Mac and I’ve never gone back.

But I also remember getting another computer a couple years later, probably another PAC Bell. It came with Windows 97 and I had Encrata and the game G-Nome. Do you remember this?

Couldn't even remember if it was an apple, dell or gateway...

But it was some giant eggshell white monstrosity back in about 91-92..

I remember it came with some kick ass Daytona racing sim game that I would play for hours, just crashing into other racers and watching the replays, over and over again...

Probably the only thing I used it for, and I remember it came with a list of historical speeches on audio which was also cool.

I vaguely remember the Gateway we had in the family "computer room"

Back before every person had their own computer

I also remember "modding" it with extra fans/vent in the case and LED light strips

We had one of these things with the orange twisty joy stick ting

Then a Commodore 64

Pong? I had pong too before the C64, but that was a game, not a computer.

I had an IBM XT (I think) with a whopping 256k of ram.

My dad had a computer with Dos and I would play the Simpsons arcade game on it. It came with a booklet of passwords you had to enter to play the game.

After that it was a Gateway. Then there was a Dell which I would play computer games on. That Dell got a lot of use with the rise of Napster and high speed internet coming onto the market.
