Finnegan's Wake

Hmm. Don't know. She's a Libertarian, so I will assume she is okay with it. However, I'm not sharing my woman with your dog. I don't care how good of a spotter he is.

I might be able to help out here.
Bacon, how does your dog feel about mohawks?

He's a huge Red Hot Chili Pepper fan...now if you'll excuse me, I have to go post a picture of my ass in misses log.

Conditioning
Bas Rutten's Thai Boxing 3 minute rounds/ BW circuit
Exercises: Dips BW x 15, Overhead Squat (bar only) x 15, Pullups BW x 15

Rd 1: instructions
Rd 2: Exercises
Rd 3 instructions
Rd 4 Exercises
Rd 5 instructions
Rd 6 Exercises
Rd 7 instructions

Impressions: Back is still a bit tender, so this was about as much as I wanted to do. Overhead squats got deeper as I went along. Not a bad circuit, but not nearly as intense as I'm used to.

As an interesting note, we had two bomb threats called into the hospital I work at. They evacuated some of the patients from the hospital across the street after the second one. What's worse is that it was the Children's Hospital.

I hear the Russel Simmons DVDs will get you more toned...

I'm not even sure this bodyweight stuff will work at all. My Manliness Coefficient may be too high.

Grip Work
Towel Pullups : 5 sets, 5 reps

Hub Grip: 5 x 30 seconds each hand, 10lbs x 20 seconds each hand, 15lbs x 10 seconds each hand, 25 x 2 seconds right hand, 0 left.

Rope climb: 8 feet x 5 climbs w/ pullup at the end.

Barbell "Rope" climb:
Barbell (45) x 3
70 x 5
CoC #2 close attempt: 1 right hand, 0 left (3 attempts) PR

Impressions:
Damn it feels good to close that thing. I'm very pleased w/ my grip strength progression. I still need to work on my left hand, but right now, I'm happy to just close the fucker. I finished up with pinch work (i.e, I bent the bottle caps from the celebration using my thumb and forefinger only, x 6).

Congrats with the #2....it's a nice milestone...

Thanks. So, should I order the next one (2.5) now, or wait until I can close it a few more times/ both hands?

Order both the 2.5 and 3 if you can.

Having the 3 is a nice way of reminding you of your goal, and seeing just how far off you are from closing it. I even bought the #4 for shits and giggles.

Keep working on the #2 until closing it is almost second nature. Add in some negatives from the 2.5, and you're on your way.

NEW BENCH!
Tested out my new bench/ squat rack today. My back (actually, now that the pain has died down a lot, its actually my left Glute) is still tender as hell, so all weight was light.
Squats
135 x 5
135 x 8
225 x 5 (quarter squats, pain kicked in and I didn't push it any further)

Overhead Squats
135 x 8

Strict OHP
135 x 5, 3 sets
135 x 8

Bench Press
135 x shitloads

Impressions: Fuck Yeah! I'm really, really going to have to kick in some discipline and not hurt myself. Basically, I shouldn't have even put it together yet. Oh well. I like this bench. It doesn't even have a space for a curl attachment or a lat pulldown bar. My only complaint is that the uprights could be a bit wider, but other than that, well worth the 35 measly dollars I paid for it.

Always exciting getting a new piece of equipment. On a side note, I'm currently reading Finnegan's Wake.

It helps tremendously if you think like a drunken Irishman would speak. The book becomes much clearer. Anyway, good luck!

On a side note, I'm currently reading Finnegan's Wake.

I had an incredibly difficult time with both Ulysses and Finnegan's Wake. To this day I'm not sure what it is I read. So many obscure references and the whole stream of consciousness flow of things...
I'd like to know what you think of it rEmY.

I'm reading Heart of Darkness for the second time. I have trouble with the Conrad's sentence structure. I know he's saying something really profound....I just don't really know what it is.

Wtf is this the Richard Simmons read for fitness log?

The more I read this, the more I realize I need some whiskey and guiness to actually comprehend it.

You got it. Bushmills FTW.
Never read Heart of Darkness. I've been meaning to. I'm currently reading "The Book of the Subgenius."

Wikipedia says the Book of Subenius is often placed in the humor section, but that some people feel it belongs in the religion section of a book store. I'm already intrigued.
