Finnegan's Wake

Thanks. One more day of leisure and then back to training. I've only got 2-5 months or so to prep for my next fight, so I need to get to it.

Happy Birthday dude enjoy the time off.

Maybe. If they offer me a "title" fight at 220, I might take it. The cruiserweight weight class doesn't exist in MMA for some dumb fucking reason, so I'd have a lot easier time getting fights at 205, but at the same time, if the promotion I'm currently with is planning to go pro and keeps the 220 weight class, I'll buk up a bit and stay there for a while ( like, right at 220 and diet/ cut for 205 from there.)

That makes sense - fight at the weight that is best for your fight career at the moment. How many more amateur fights before you go pro or does it depend on your current promotion?

I think they want to have two more amy shows, then a half/ half x 2, then all pro. If I stick with them and keep winning, It'll be 4 more fights to Pro.

Hm, sounds awesome. So they'll keep the weight classes, even at pro? I suppose they can since it's unregulated. Let us know what the dates are.

Happy Birthday, Finn!

Happy birthday Finn. I did the 10 minute density block with the sledgehammer and only got 377. How the fuck did you get 600?

I didn't quite get to 600 yet. My best so far (officially) is 552 I think.

Btw, those Thai pads were size Regular.

Cool. I'm making a list for the school owner. If we have people wanting to sponsor the fight team and we still can't talk him into a half cage, then I think some new gear would be appropriate.

Fin, does your school do some type of TMA during the day to pay the bills?

Yeah. The MMA program is most certainly not the main focus of the school. Its basically a karate dojo. They also offer Wing Tsun, and just brought in a BJJ brown belt who offers a couple classes a week. The school is being renovated to have two levels, and I think we (MMA and BJJ) are getting the lower level.

Half cage would be nice. We're getting a small ring at our gym, although we still desperately need a tire/sledgehammer.
