I used JP the whole tournament. Lost to Manon 2-3. Tourney was First to 2, with Top 8 being First to 3. Top 8 ended up like this:

39 registered:
1st- JP (lost the mirror 0-2, sent me to losers bracket)
2nd- Manon/Luke (guy who eliminated me using Manon 2-3)
3rd- Lily/Ken
4th (Me)- JP
5th- Cammy
5th- Marisa
7th- Zangief
7th- Kimberly

So pretty good variety for a Top 8. My bracket was tough. All Top 8 players were various Diamond level players so matches were super sweaty. Stream had issues so the host didn't save it, but the next stream I should be able to share which would probably in two weeks from this Friday.
 
JP's ex parry is such fucking bullshit you don't give a guy with that kinda of zoning tools this type of escape move. He's a great character even without it, he doesn't need it.

No in all seriousness he does need it. He has no other option to get pressure off, and the reversal itself has the recovery of death and can be baited for punish counters. Without it he'd just get mauled and if he got cornered the round would be over without the threat of it.

Bad reversal is the weakness of zoning characters it compensates for how hard it is to get close to them, at the very least it shouldn't cover both grab and normals and they need to add a bit more recovery to it.

Not in this game. And it already has long recovery for easy punishes. Some mixup up characters have good zoning tools, some chars with command grabs have tools to instantly bypass zoning, etc. The only zoner with a bad reversal in this game is Dhalsim and it's part of the reason he's trash and everyone has dropped him. If a character like JP had a nerfed reversal or no reversal the Manon or Honda MU would be borderline unwinnable.
 
What are y'all thoughts on MK1? I thought it would be meh but the more I see the better it looks. I wish they didn't try to reinvent the wheel every game but this one looks way better than MK11's snail pace game.

to me, the first gameplay trailer look janky to me. I don't know if it was the video i watched but it felt like at some points frames dropped so I didn't have a good idea. I don't like the characters they had as playable so far so i'll need to see more.
