I don't start threads very often, but just wanted to hear some input on a fighter whom you admit you overrated. I.e. for me, would have to be Evan Dunham. After that fight with Sherk, which I though he handily won, I though he was going to take over @ LW. Especially the Sherk he faced, who was still a top LW contender. Only to be obliterated by Melvin Guillard his next fight. That fight was painful to watch.

I at least thought Dunham would earn himself a title shot. He is still a top notch LW, but with the best of the division nowadays (RDA, Edgar, Cerrone, Pettis, etc.), I doubt he'll ever earn himself a shot.

Anyone else? I should be doing my taxes, but am easily distracted.

Happy Easter :)

A lot of people on here are guilty of falling in love for Papy Abedy and then Thiago Alves woke them up from their wet dreams.

I overrated Lombard. Still a good fighter but I thought he was one of the best guys at WW, he might just have gotten old though.

Tyson Griffin, the way he fought in his early UFC career was awesome. I was positive it was just a matter of time before he was champion.

I thought McGregor was skill wise better than Diaz.

Brandon Vera, I expected great things from him when he burst on the scene

Carlos Condit

I lost a little bundle of money during the five minutes of the Machida Era.
I admit to drinking the pee flavored Kool Ade.

Jon Jones's first fight against someone his size.

Didn't we all. Such a promising career early on. Then after than Gomi KO, it took a nose dive. :(

I usually don't fall for hype trains or anything. I follow the technical aspect of things but I have to admit Yoel Romero fooled me since I thought he was clean and everything

Gonzaga

I remember thinking he was one of the most well-rounded heavies that could potentially beat Fedor and then within like two fights all of his weaknesses became apparent and I felt like an ass.

Barao. Not that he isn't a good fighter, but I thought he was better than he turned out to be.

Josh Grispi, McGregor like tons of 1st round finishes, lost 4 in a row in UFC or something like that. Was expected to fight Jose Aldo btw

and also another 'expected to fight Jose' guy - Erik Koch

Luis Cane

Seemed to be a well rounded killing machine, with amazing output, and ability to absorb damage.

Then, I realized he couldn't see left hands coming at this face.
