Fighters who made you think they were untouchable

You know this impression you have when you witness a flawless performance, where the fighter is in the zone, completely relaxed. You can't imagine him lose because he exudes confidence. Everything he does is measured, flawessely executed. Or maybe that's the impression you have.

I have to think of Conor UFC run until Aldo. Or Anderson's fights like the Leben, Griffin, Belfort ones.
Machida also looked like he was three steps ahead against Thiago Silva or Evans.

Which ones you think of sherbros ?

Honestly, I've never thought anyone was "unbeatable," only unbeatEN.

Floyd Mayweather struts around with his 50-0 record, but his record was laughable compared to Durans, Sugar Ray Robinson's, and many others who had incredible unbeaten streaks — until they got beaten.

I still say Sugar Ray Robinson is the closest to perfection.

* 85-0 as an amateur, 69 KOs
* 40-0 as a professional WW, then loses 1 fight to Jake LaMotta, a MW (a loss which he avenged 4xtimes, once by KO)
* 89-0-2 Then wins another 89 fights in a row (2 draws), before his next loss.
>>> After that started to deteriorate, as any mortal does.

Ray Robinson was never KO'd in 201 fights (only one rep stoppage, due to heat prostration).

Sugar Ray Robinson puts all other fighters that have ever lived to shame.

No one in MMA can kiss his ass.
No one in boxing can kiss his ass.

Most of the fighters have been mentioned so I'll throw in renan barao he looked dam good until he fought tj

Kamaru Usman - when he started using his jab and even switching stances to throw a right jab (a punch he dropped Burns with). His wrestling was already something I felt nobody could deal with, and when he started hurting people with his hands, I thought nobody would have anything for him.

Junior Dos Santos - His entire run to earn and win the title was incredible. The way he dominated Carwin when Carwin walked through everyone; his only loss going into the Dos Santos fight was a result of getting tired. Dos Santos made it look easy from bell to bell, showing off a high kick and a takedown in the process.

Anderson Silva - For me, it was when he stopped Marquardt inside of a round. Even more impressive was he showed great defensive wrestling and switched a takedown attempt. I was always high on Marquardt, and for Silva to dispose of him as fast and as easily as he did made me believe nobody would be able to touch him at 185.

Jessica Andrade - After her loss to Jedrzejczyk, she threw Gadelha around like she was a feather, KOed Kowalkiewicz cold, and won the title against Namajunas by dumping her on her head. I didn’t think anyone was beating that version of Andrade.

JZ Cavalcante - Winning the K-1 Heroes Lightweight Tournament, and stopping Shaolin Ribeiro in the Semis inside of a minute (Ribeiro was also considered to be one of the best lightweights in the world). Aoki was also unable to do anything with him in the opening round of the Dream Lightweight Tournament. I honestly felt he was going to take that tournament hands down.

Watching Jon Jones, Anderson, and BJ’s first UFC fights always feels like the same thing.
you’re watching a guy on a different level just molleywhop guys like they didn’t belong in there with them.
Only watching Anderson fight still feels special like that today.
Jon is dominant but hasn’t really added towards his highlight reel since the last Gus fight

-Shogun during his Pride run.

-Miguel Torres when he was killing low level dudes in WEC

-Aldo when he was Aldo'ing everyone

-Renen Barao

-Ubereem

Chuck with that look in his eyes.

Conor up to and including Aldo was a good one imo, although haters tend to forget how good he really was before the BS started clouding things.

Anderson's reign.

Jones vs Gane
Even when I was still interested in McGregor, it was pretty clear he had the benefit of cherry picked fights. Dennis Siver moved up like 3 ranking spots without winning a bout just for getting scheduled against Connie.

The Mendes win was huge though. A bad style match for Conor. I was slightly glad Edgar didn't get the fight because I didn't want him to get worked.

Fedor & Machida came to mind first. Francis prior to the initial Stipe fight as well.

Also I was all aboard the Mirsad Bektic hype-train. I legit said things like "This guys is like FW GSP, going to be an all-time great."

Prime Silva comes to mind immediately, what an exciting run he had

Nothing rivals Jon Jones reign.
MMA is such a difficult sport to be considered elite.

Also although I knew A Silva prior I was speechless when he clowned Leben who I thought wouldn’t go away easily.

Anderson Silva never received enough credit for his grappling during that run. Sure his bread and brother was his muay thai striking, yet his grappling skills were very good

Georges - pretty much knew what he was gonna do, yet no one could ever stop it. Even losing a single round in a fight is rare for george

Jones - just a freak strong everywhere loses rounds later in his career cause he gets kinda lazy and coasts when he’s not pressed, making fights against guys like Reyes santos and smith closer than they should be.

Cain - yes, he can get one punched because hw, and it happens to the best of them, but Cains cardio and output aswell with head movement and dirty boxing. The perfect storm; beats jones, ngannou anyone ever when he’s at his best

its weird jon jones would beat machida and silva at the same night
but i believe back then that jones was beatable

machida and silva has aura of invinsiblity
seems like they would just toy on whoever they faced

really weird

Anderson Silva had that aura before Chael fight. I could see Shavkat developing that type of aura if he keeps finishing fights.
Adesanya started to look that way to me. Then Pereira beat him. Then he KO'd Pereira and my head exploded. Then Strickland beat him and my head imploded.
