We can all see Chimaevs potential. We all watched his UFC fights this year, no one can deny he has ability. But this is the UFC he is one of probably a dozen stand out stars who are yet to face opposition that have tested them. Until that happens, and it will versus Leon, there is nothing more to say.

Obviously someone who so far doesn't even have a ranked win shouldn't even be considered Fighter of the year, compared to someone with multiple title fight wins.

I like Holland, but going 5-0 with a finish over Jack Hermansson probably still wouldn't be enough to compete with Deiveson going 4-0 at the absolute top or Chimaev taking out Leon Edwards. Even if Chimaev wins via DQ, I'll be impressed. New talent is not supposed to beat guys like Edwards.

Disagree. Hollands comp is much tougher than Deivesons, even if not as highly ranked. The so-called elite flyweights aren't really elite tbh.

I don't remember all the categories, but breakthrough OTY could go to Holland. If there would be one for prospects it's for Khamzat. International to Jan. While Fighter of the Year is for top guys. Figu won 3 title fights impressively (could be 4). Most other champs fought once. And no Tony type contender in any class.

Nobody is interested in Colby-Masvidal rewatch with usman he beat both guys already and they got no chance against him in rematch. That pretty much ends any dreams of unwanted rematches.. Colby and Mas won't even fight each other.

Idk about neither fighter having a chance in the rematch. Colby fight was very very close and he easily could have won a decision had just a couple exchanges more gone his way, I didnt like that finish either. I would say that's damn near a pickem fight 55/45 usman. As far as masvidal hes got sneaky power and very high level striking and can put anyone out, the problem is usman seems to have an iron chin and is a terrible matchup. Still though I would say it's like 80-20 or 75-25 usman. I would watch either fight again, because I would love to see masvidal flatline usmans annoying schtick of a personality, or see another very fun fight like usman colby 1

Yeah, but I honestly think some guys on Sherdog are trolls/paid to post about certain guys. Just look at the insane amount of Makachev, Khabib and other Russian/muslim fighters. Can't be a coincidence

I know he's 3-0 and I stated that but all 3 of these guys I mentioned are fighting once more this year. This is a theoritical if he wins that's 3 first round finishes and a top 5 win. That is fighter of the year worthy. (Not that I'm sold on him winning)
