Fighter of the Year doesn't belong to Chimaev or Figueiredo

I think many of us, me included, hold 125lb in such low regard as to hardly consider them fights.
And why exactly is that? Do you prefer to watch 2 low skilled, slow as fuck fighters in HW, gassing out hard after 2 minutes of the first round? Or is the speed of the 125pounds fighters too fast for you to actually understand what's going on? If you aren't watching this sport for the skills, go watch wwe...

I think Khamzat takes the "breakout fighter of the year" or whatever it's called, but probably not fighter of the year. If he fought and beat Leon he'd have it hands down, but that's not happening now.

It's not the "most wins of the year award."
I think it means a lot in a year where a lot of fighters cant get a fight, and things look bleek, holland comes through with a slew of great fights and finishes. 4 fights 3 finishes, he's had a stellar year in a year that has taken the entire world by storm. Fig has done the same and of course he's a champion. So fig is a great argument. Without jack Hermanson, I cant weigh Kevin Holland's quality of wins, amount of wins, and not missing weight once, against Figs. who knows maybe fig loses?

If he finishes Jacare he will be 1b behind 1a Fig IF Fig defeats Moreno. Khamzat is not in the picture unless Fig and Holland lose

Fighter of year belongs to Kevin Holland
Racking up a total of 5 Fights in 2020

Here's the breakdown:
(Total number of fights in 2020, including upcoming fights in December)

Kevin Holland - 5
Figueiredo - 4
Chimaev - 3
U forgot Bobby Green he also fought 4 times this year

What if Holland beats Jacare? Plus, Fig missing weight kinda tarnishes it for me. We can't be rewarding that kind of irresponsibility.

Missing weight during the pandemic gets a slight pass from me. He came back, made the weight and won the belt. He hasn't missed a beat since provided tomorrow goes well.
Otherwise Cowboy should have been fighter of the year multiple times if Holland gets it.

There are 2 notable names that he beat this year which are Buckley and Stewart

A guy in his first UFC fight and a guy that's traded wins and losses for most of his UFC tenure.

2 wins verse perennial number 2 Joe B in one year is much better even with the weight cut issue. Let alone throwing the title in there and the pure dominance of Figs performances. He is beating people and making them look like they don't belong in there with him.

Holland is catching people but they are pretty competitive fights.

Who cares about fighter of the year ?

Khamzat will be fighter of the decade. Century even
If he beats Leon then beats the Champ whether Usman or Burns then defending the belt multiple times that makes him one of the best fighter ever and i do believe he can do it but right now he has to focus on Leon

Um...Benvenidez x2, Perez, and Moreno is great competition? I think not.
Most of the people dont know who Perez and Moreno are but Benavidez has been in the UFC almost 10 years so most of the people knows him but unfortunately he is the one of the legends to never win a UFC title

Holland has had a great year, but fig is doing it in championship fights. If Fig goes 4-0, gotta disagree that holland is the fighter of the year.
If Fig beats Moreno then he is the ACTUAL fighter of the year for 2020

Between Fig and Fig honestly.
While Glovers, Chimaevs and Jans runs have been great cinderella stories, they are no where near Figuereidos accomplishments.
Jan only Fought 1 time in Championship fight and Fig will fight 4 times which means the winner of the Fighter of the Year is Figuerido

I think that fighters that need to be borderline-stunted to make a weight are uninsteresting. Men who walk around at 140lb are not interesting to me as athletes, and lack power. They also compete against a very small talent pool, as the amount of athletic men at that weight is low. There is a reason 155-170 are the talent-richest: the most amount of people exist in that range.

I meant 'fighter'.
It has to be Figueirdo because he fought 3 championship fights and the 4th one will be Tomorrow night so i can officially declared that he is the fighter of the year

If he beats Jacare, I'll put him up there.

If he submits Jacare then I'll give it to him hands down.
