Fighter of the Year doesn't belong to Chimaev or Figueiredo

It's definitely not going to Ariels boy toy, Mr.Vetorri even though he wont forget the moments they shared in the bathroom together.

Holland is gonna make Jacare look easy. He’ll steal the glory this sat. Mark my words.
Jacare gonna show the difference between a blue belt and a black belt in bjj. Even though Holland is trained by the great Travis Lutter the Michael Jordan of BJJ
What if Holland beats Jacare? Plus, Fig missing weight kinda tarnishes it for me. We can't be rewarding that kind of irresponsibility.
42 is the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything.
including those 3 posts because it's jacare's age before he retires next year after a couple more loses(the first being Holland).

To be serious though.. Guys, Hermansson sat in jacare's closed gaurd for half an hour.. nothing happened.. He's not the same multiple bjj world champ. If he had any drop of prime left it died in his last two matches he lost.

Holland has had a great year, but fig is doing it in championship fights. If Fig goes 4-0, gotta disagree that holland is the fighter of the year.

Figueiredo for sure. Winning gold matters. Props to Holland though. No poser.

Between Fig and Fig honestly.
While Glovers, Chimaevs and Jans runs have been great cinderella stories, they are no where near Figuereidos accomplishments.

It's a two horse race that comes down to Saturday's Main Event.

IF Figuieredo wins, he'll have beaten...
Benevidez x 2
Perez
Moreno
...all in Title Fights & will finish the year as FLW Champion.

IF Moreno wins, he'll have beaten...
Formiga (only man to beat Figueiredo)
Royval
Figueiredo
...& will finish the year as FLW Champion

Regardless of the outcome, no one else's resume will compare to these two in 2020.

If Holland beats Jacare, he can win 'Breakthrough fighter of the year' like Cowboy did it in 2011 who fought 5 times that year. But highly doubt he'll even be nominated as Fighter of the Year. That only goes to guys who were champions by the end of the year.

So the unspeakably bad PPV numbers of 125 title fights and the fact that they moved many of his later fights to non-PPV is a mirage, and you speak for the entire polity?

WHo are you talking about? 125 is literally headlining a PPV Saturday bro.

Whats your excuse for when Jacare can't get the take down and get mollywhopped?

Holland hasn't beat anyone of note. FOTY is for beat competition within a calendar year. Always goes to champions or top contenders with the most top 5 wins. It is Figu if he beats Moreno. Right now it's probably still Figu, cuz Rona.

It was only last year that Holland barely beat Meerschart (sp?) I was there and was worried he'd fuck up my parlay before the decision was announced (although I don't remember the fight itself). David Branch went and did that later though.

But yeah, Holland is young, fast, and slick enough he could make this look like easy work. We'll see. Just think it's a mistake to count out Jacare.

Very fun that this Saturday could determine fighter of the year.

Jacare is not easy for anyone. Especially if he goes back to his ground game. Dude just had a split decision with the LHW champ. He’s fitna bang, if Holland beats him then maybe he has something for Izzy, but this is a tough test even if hacare is old as dirt.

Yep, because every other fight fell out. Nunes-Anderson and Yan-Sterling would both have taken priority. Do you really need me to find you the last 10 125 title fights and show you were they took place?

What an awful argument, that it is about to headline a PPV, when the last PPV it headlined in November bombed.

If fig wins this weekend then he’s fighter of the year easily, 4 wins over fighters ranked in the top 3 of the division all title fights as well.

Who has Holland beat ranked top 12 of the Division (besides if he beats Jacare)?

Its not just a 125 problem for low PPVs, besides 1 or 2 names in the UFC its rare anyone does over 500k.

Yan/Sterling and Nunes/Anderson would do equivalent buys than Fig/Moreno.

If you done like 125 you don't have to, they don't need to be draws to be an entertaining division if you only wanna see big jacked dudes fight go watch WWE.

Awful strawman argument. I prefer to watching fighters with power and out-of-this-world might. Not men who walk around at 140lb. The market seems to agree with us.

You're right. Thats why Lomachenko is ne of the biggest draws in boxing right now, everyone has your mindset.

If you're weird refusal to not watch any fights BW or below then boy youve missed out not me.

Peace and love x
