Terrible final, weak goal. Italia 90 was the worst of the WCs that I can remember. What were the memorable games? The most memorable thing to me was Brazil controlling play for 89mins in the Argentine end and then Maradona with a god like move passes to Cannigia who puts it in the back of the net. The other games were forgettable IMO.

I think that's the reason why Wins went from 2 to 3 points.

I don't know much about Uruguay but my brother's gf is from Brazil and she said, "Uruguay is weird, it's like 3million people, with half the country living in one city, and the rest live in rural areas.".

Yup it's Montivideo and farms. They've also got this South American Vegas called Punta Del Este. But it's a vacation spot opposed to somewhere people live. It's big but has 12k people.

Uruguays physically the size of the UK though, but it's like with the population of 2/3s of Scotland.

Think of it like a big city state but where the city has land outside the city.

these elimination tournament games should be settled by continuous overtime where the next goal wins. who gives a shit how much longer it would take, at least they would win it as a team, instead of just a couple guys taking unopposed free shots at the net at penalty kick range. just let them play it out. these penalty kicks are bullshit.

im not a fan of that. even though ive been a fan of argentina since day one of the tournament. i forgive them for losing to the saudi's but i will never forget. that was the first ever soccer match ive ever sat down and watched lol and they blew it. but im back on the argentina wagon again.

kinda sucks watching the netherlands go out like that. my boy Denzel Dumfries had it going on again.

lastly i dont know much about soccer, but is it legal in those shootouts to move in on the ball and pretend like youre going to kick the ball at full force but then slow down to a crawl just to try to get the goalie to dive one way, and then kick it at the empty side?

or perhaps do the opposite - just slowly walk towards the ball at a sloths pace, do an old grandma slow motion windup, and then just blast it at the net like you mean business?

i dont know the rulebook or the logistics behind that. i know in hockey they had to change the rules of a shootout where the puck has to be in a continuous forward motion....i guess the goalies were getting mad about players doing the spin-o-rama goals and stuff. but still there are the odd players who fuck around in the shootouts and i have to question the legitimacy of these dirty tactics
