So? Of course certain networks are playing it off as "nothing", and others are celebrating. That being said, what does this mean for Trump? Is anything really going to happen to him/his family?

So this definitely sounds like it. The guy said Trump advised him to do this. I guess the only real question is do they have evidence to back that up? Does anyone know how serious these crimes are?

When Trump is indicted, impeached and shamed for being an absolute criminal his voters will still call this a witch-hunt. There is no convincing daddy’s children

They're felonies but not murder felonies.

They have evidence to back it up. First, sworn testimony is evidence. Second, they also have thousands of electronic and paper communications between Trump and Cohen. At least some of it corroborates these charges - there's a phone conversation transcript that got leaked about the McDougall payments.

I'll bet there's more than that, but that's what's been publicly available.

Probably, but dunno. You'd want the sentencing guidelines if you want to know severity, and those are fact-specific. Base offense is 8, which is for "mild" felonies, but the sums that they were playing with brings it up to ~18, which is about 3 years per count assuming that there are no other factors.

Cohen's recommended sentence with a reduction for cooperation is about 4 years total, apparently (I haven't checked this myself).
