Feminism, Sexism, and Entitlement

I just read an interesting article proclaiming that it is time for the original feminist movement to end, and instead to address the two way street of sexism.

I personally think that feminism, in the form of pushing social and economic equality, has done as much as it can hope to. Maybe it is time to push toward destroying the personal sexism that still exists in a disgusting way.

This topic may not be well suited for the Man's World that is Sherdog, but the real world is no longer Man Land.

What does Sherdog think about sexism? Not just towards women, but also towards men from the female side of the coin?

Another issue that often gets confused with feminism is Female Entitlement. This is the idea that women not only deserve to be equal, but superior on social and economic fronts. I don't necessarily agree with this idea, but it's worth discussion.

Well, I think the author is way off base if she thinks the struggles of feminism ended at the right to vote (sort of like how racism ended after the civil rights movement?). Poor analysis. Secondly, Sherdog isn't a 'man's world', it's a fighters' world, and a lot of fighters and fight fans happen to be men. But, there are women here. There are threads dedicated to women fighters here. There are a lot of female posters, probably more than you realize because it is more comfortable for women to pose as men on the internet, especially in places with mostly young men.

Well, I think you sound pretty sexist, for one. There are more men posters than women posters on Sherdog, to be sure, but not all by any means. Secondly, you'd have to be pretty naive to think there isn't sexism out there, or that it isn't a problem.

Where do you get that I don't think there is sexism out there?

For what its worth I kind of agree - I think feminists should be pushing for gender egalitarianism, instead of framing the whole thing about pushing women's rights. Some issues are a two way street, and both men and women can use a critique/are at fault.

And I do agree that both men and women are at fault in their own ways. Sexism is one of those concepts where people seem to think only one side of the coin is guilty, which is absolutely not true.
