Feminism, Sexism, and Entitlement

She made this performance art that involved the taking paper out of her vagina and reading from it. feminist art is by and large selling propaganda for personal gain. And most of it is pretty terrible. She for example is a legend in her field.

I'm well aware of who Carolee Schneemann is. What part of her performance art was part of a selfish agenda?

Feminists have always pushed the idea that women have the right to what they want with their bodies. In her time, Carolee was simply exhibiting the idea that she could do what she wanted with her body, without a man's input or direction.

Which is a view that still isn't completely accepted.

Rethought it, realized I was wrong, edited the crap out of my original post. Sorry about that.

No worries.

Acknowledging that white privilege undermines the authority of modern feminism makes me racist? Ok.

No. Accusing someone that you don't know of being 'full of white privilege' is what makes you racist.

I think a lot of men feel very weak and frustrated. Men want to act manly and do manly shit, and being emasculated is some of the worst psychological pain we can go through - that's just how we're wired. Some guys are just eating shit on a daily basis because they have no connection with their own masculinity, probably not even knowing why they feel that way.
This is a good post.

How do you suggest we solve the problem?

EDIT: I mean, I know how I do it. I don't "play the game" by settling down with a woman. I kept my career and life on track, take care of myself, and play the lone wolf with women. Also, I'm a weekend warrior athlete.

That goes for all areas of art. You're just blinded by your woman hate. You've got issues, brah.

Haha no it isn't. What propaganda is degas paintings selling?besides the interplay of light and shadow.

No. Assuming that feminism is accounting for the interests of women of color when it never has is indeed white privilege.

Degas isn't an area of effin art. He is an artist.

Read something before you respond for ONCE.

Acknowledging that white privilege undermines the authority of modern feminism makes me racist? Ok and feel free to quote any actually racist things I've said.

Telling me that I'm not capable of of understanding or obtaining certain outlooks because of my race is racist. I've actually participated in initiatives to help raise awareness and bridge gaps in the context of both race and gender inequality.

You, on the other hand, sit their demonizing white people, telling women to shut up, and claiming that men are now getting the short end of the stick in society, even though white privilege is still destroying men and women of colour. You're inconsistent and juvenile in your opinion, which is why everyone thinks that you're either a troll or just very, very ignorant.

My view is that most feminists are barely even real women, they're uber masculine borderline lesbians with a serious case of penis envy.

No worries.

Annd she made a career out of it. And many men have shoved things up their ass and never gotten immortalized or praised for it by mainstream society or the art world.

It's not because of your race. You lack insight because you are unaware of your privilege.lots of white people don't indulge the petty bourgeoise obsession that is modern feminism. You aren't one

You don't even know what feminism is. In your mind, it's a bunch of screaming white women who make more money than their male and non-white counterparts. That's not reality, that's your projection. You are undermining true feminism, which is simply equality between the sexes.

lol @ the feminist movement needing to end. Which one?

What the author proposes is classic 3rd wave

You should read up on feminism past the 60s-70s. It's not like that at all.

Yeah, mainstream feminism is really bad for that. The thing about white privilege is you don't really get a say in whether you have it or not. The best you can do is acknowledge it's there and try to understand it a little. The best way to deal with it is shutting the eff up from time to time. Something I am sucking at doing right now.

No no there is historical documentation of the feminist movement. And it has unfortunately failed too live up to your standards. It still chose its name and will be recognized for its hypocrisy as such.

Fat Abbot, your virgin is showing.

So you acknowledge that women of colour still have a long way to go as far as fair and equal treatment, yet you think 'women' need to stop politicizing issues of women's equality? Huh, you are as simple-minded as you come across, aren't you?

Haha yes I do.how unaware can you be to equate modern feminism with the interests of women of color?

I believe it is important to remember that sexism goes both ways and that the so-called "War on Women" may not be true, and if it is, then there's also a "War on Men" too. Modern-Day Feminism has actually made quite a few myths to garner great support on their side. The sad thing is that if you try to make a comment that disagrees with them you'll sometimes be called a "woman hater" or "scum of the earth." By no means do I consider myself to be either, but here are a few things I've learned through my own research, take it for what it's worth:

Myth 1. Women make less money than men due to discrimination

This is not entirely accurate in today's society. Although, there is an income disparity between men and women, both genders are generally paid the same for the same work. There are quite a few reasons for the income disparity, one of the main reasons being is that women, in general, prefer to be more socially-oriented with friends rather than career-oriented such as men. In other words, if men are given the opportunity to get more hours, rather than hang out with friends, they are more likely to do so. On frequent occasion, women actually make more per hour than men due to the fact that their interpersonal skills often exceed that of their male counterparts in negotiations of pay.

Myth 2. Women aren't being given as good of health-care as men

The evidence seems to point otherwise. Women have a much longer life-expectancy than men in the United States. Another interesting fact is that, although Breast and Prostate Cancer kill roughly the same amount of people, Breast Cancer Research gets about 700% more funding than does Prostate Cancer. It is possible that there is some health-care discrimination against women, but there's also a good amount against men that's not mentioned or downplayed.

Myth 3. Women aren't given the same opportunities for employment as men

Again, the evidence points to the contrary. Often businesses are actually interested in hiring more women due to tax-credit opportunities provided by the government. It's also mentioned that there are nearly no women in certain fields such as Construction, Coal Mining, ect. Yet the majority of these jobs are the most dangerous jobs on the planet. It's also downplayed that men make up an average of 93% of workplace related deaths due to the fields they dominate. And the safest occupations such as Secretaries and Receptionists are dominated by women by more than 90%.

These are just a few myths that are spread, there are many more, but I'm getting tired of writing. I'm not trying to say that there aren't any injustices against women, there are, but there are just as many injustices against men today that are downplayed primarily due to modern-day feminism.
