If you want to indict 'leftist logic', at least get a grade school understanding of it first:

Women having control over their own reproductive systems- GOOD

Women being forced to do what others want with their reproductive systems- BAD

ICE is less than 20 years old and was not needed in the first place. they have 20,000 employees and outsource hundreds of thousands more through private detention centers. ICE needs to go.

DHS was formed in 2002 and has 250,000 employees. DHS needs to be much smaller.

Police department sizes are determined at the state/municipal levels they serve. Which is just fine. To be honest, police departments could be much smaller if we did not ask them to do things they are not set up or equipped to do properly. And that is on us.

2/3 of what police do is dealing with people with mental health or substance abuse problems. Go to any county jail on the weekend and see how few people are there for things other than that.

What we need to do is take some of the police budget and devote it to those things. Then stop asking police to essentially be a mental health ward and substance abuser holding center.

Simple. All those detained should either be in the US working, or be immediately deported. Give them temporary visa's that allow them to work and pay taxes, or kick them out. The absolute worst case scenario for everyone is to store them in cages. That costs everyone and benefits no one.

Here is some interesting math for you. Currently we are paying roughly $25,000 per person each year to detain these folks. If they were working and paying taxes, they would be contributing to our Social Security and Medicare benefits- which they would never be eligible to receive.

So, I will put it to you- Pay 25k per year head to keep thousands of people who (aside from showing up) have committed no crime in cages, or let them come in, work, and fund our retirements?
 
The complaint as worded is a little thin. There’s a lot of generalization, assumption and apparent language barrier in play here. If it’s true, it’s something that nobody can support. I’d be surprised if even dyed in the wool trump supporters would attempt to rationalize this. Right now denial works, because it’s not a definitive allegation.

I dont disagree. I was just wondering what your thought process was. It makes sense. I personally believe ICE should be for actually customs and busting CRIMINAL illegals. And no, Im not talking about immigrants whose only crime is crossing the border illegally, im talking about the MS 13s of the world.

Yeah, I dont think anybody’s in favor of forced sterilization. It’s a fringe position, Trump’s support is essentially mainstream republicanism, minus centrists, plus fringe elements. The majority aren’t that bloodthirsty.

Concur. But the DHS already has a $68 Billion budget, with resources allocated to that. The people housing detainees in makeshift prisons are not the people you send after MS 13.

People who suggest completely de-funding DHS are knuckleheads. They probably don't even know what the DHS is. Most of the departments within the DHS existed well before the DHS was formed in 2002. FEMA, the Secret Service, and the fucking Coast Guard in within the DHS for fuck sakes.

But it would be fair to say that if Cooks1 was emperor, there would be some major resource shuffling, and it would probably be much smaller overall.
