Fedor's training

There was a video posted in the contenders right before Barnett was canceled where it showed him doing bench and curls.

Well if fedor does curls maybe I should stop judging people who do them in the squat ra.... wait no, no that's crazy.

Nothing about it looks inefficent or antiquated.

Bear in mind this article has likely been translated through around 3 languages and is just a vague overview of what he does.

He runs, he trains his sport, lifts some weights and does recovery work, except for the last month before the fight when he cuts back on the lifting. Nothing wrong with any of that.

I think there is a huge problem at the moment with people reading alot of articles on the net and assuming that things that are not the most up to date / perfect training methods some how dont work.

QFT.

As far as him not doing HIIT... Look at that schedule, he is training at least 9 hours a day, 4 days a week of his sport. He runs as a warmup before training boxing twice a day and wrestling once a day. I'm sure throughout much of that he is doing BW exercises, and when he doesn't immediately have fights coming he has got to be lifting heavy weights, or at least doing some barbell training after skill work or on off days.

None of this is surprising to me at all. From what I've read this is pretty standard.

Not sure why everyone jumped on OP. All he did was post Fedor's rough training program. What's wrong with that? Should immediately every upcoming fighter train like that? ofcourse not but that's how Fedor trains.

You do not know if he does or does not do intervals. He may not do intervals with sprints or running but he may very well do them with jump rope, bag work, or other sport specific training.

No fighter discloses 100% of their training so dont be gullible trying to evaluate an elite fighter's training from the tidbits that he does reveal.

in my opinion, since fedor is just starting out, something like Starting Strength would be more suitable.

They jumped on the OP on principle. It's yet another fighter's training methods post. Only, this time it wasn't made by some douche white belt... oh wait.

I have always found that the more I complicate training, the less quality work I actually do. Sounds like fedor doesn't like to over complicate things.

It's mildly disturbing that the best fighter in the world (arguably) uses training methods that we would consider antiquated and inefficient.

Yeah, except they didn't reveal his GnP training methods.

That was a Fedor video recently which was taken down showing Fedor and team mates doing a weight lifting circuit of bench, clean, dips, ect... It was from his last camp for Barnett.

What I wanna know is what this man eats if he runs that much and still doesnt lean up. He must really be about meat and potatoes only like he has said before. Amazing.
