Having said that,if Minakov was in this tournament, he'd destroy everyone, Fedor included. I'd be really interested in seeing prime Fedor vs Minakov and I wouldn't know who to bet on - Minakov is that good.

Agreed. Watching Mir win is gonna be painful.

As for a prediction: I think Mir via something. Fedor's only chance is a KO. Mir can win via sub, decision, or KO, so I have to go with him.

To bad Minakov has contractual disputes with Bellator. He has fight left with them, but want more money. They are not giving it to him and blocking him from leaving to UFC.

I watched his to last fight. Mitrion could have been a lucky punch, but that first round against Maldonado...Ay Dios mio!
 
April 2018 I have to pick Mir in this bout. Ten years ago I would have gone with the GOAT.

I also think Frank has good chance to win this Grand Prix overall. I'm not really seeing anyone having some great advantage over him.

Don't see ring rust being a factor either for Frank. Think he comes in solid with something to prove.
 
My two observations - 1) This is the first time I've ever seen Frank Mir's ABS. Abs don't show up without a LOT of hard work. 2) I would hate for Mir to get his hands on me. He is a beast with his hands. He'll twist and turn all your joints like pulling apart a Thanksgiving turkey. So, if Frank can avoid getting KO'd, he should beat Fedor on the ground due to his heavier weight and greater expertise.
 
Ah man it hurts me to say how much Fedor's grappling has been declined. Who once used to be considered as one of the best Heavyweight grappler graced in MMA ever.

Painful thing that I still can't cope with.

Don't have any. I stopped making predictions for Fedor fights a few years ago. The pain is too much, so at this point I expect prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

That's the biggest thing. Changed his game completely. He used to be a Judokai/Sambo fighter.
