that and it's not an empty bottle you can just fill up with your drink and sell. If you simulcast bellator on CMT it means you cant air something else on that network during that timeslot. Instead you are airing the same programming thats being aired on a different network.

the CMT number in my view is useless. CMT aired top 20 music videos that pulled around the same number during that day.

580k viewers is the new high water mark for bellator. previously it was 770k for chael vs rampage which was low to begin with but things have gone down since then. I remember when 900k was considered low for their big shows.

And what makes it worse is that Bellator has shit shows scheduled so far. none of the events being booked look like they are going to beat 580k viewers.

Fedor vs Chael may beat 580k but what else do they have?

Bellator is averaging 480k viewers on paramount this year. That is scary man. They were averaging 790k viewers up to this point last year. THAT'S LIKE HALF!

WHat's scarier is that they have a better roster this year than they did last year.

And bellators numbers usually go down second half of the year compared to the first.

Bellators biggest handicap is the fact it’s exclusively on a network most people don’t have anymore. As long as Bellator remains exclusively on Viacom networks, we will never see the numbers rise. Also, a lot of the cards they are putting out these days are trash. You get a few good cards in a row like 198, 199 and 200, but all the other cards after that are trash.

because CMT would probably get 170k viewers airing any rerun. I dont count it either. Nobody is tuning into cmt to watch bellator. Those are just people who watch that network.

This is right. Every channel has a base number of viewers that will always watch it. The plan Bellator had was to artificially inflate their numbers by using the addition of more channels base viewer count. The problem is their ratings on their main network has gone down so much that the extra views by putting it on CMT are still not helping. This is the reason why we don't compare FS1 shows to FOX shows. The amount of base viewers on Big Fox is way higher than FS1. So for the ratings to be a success on Big FOX they have to be number much higher than on FS1.

Ummm no. You have to compare relative availability of both mediums to do a accurate comparison. You cannot accurately compare a free tv show available in 80-90M homes to a PPV show that cost extra to view. With any basic business analysis you have to compare business in the same spaces they exist in. That is like 1st week business school stuff..........

Fedor drew 5 million viewers on cbs a decade ago. more than any ufc fox event ever and it still didn't matter.

The biggest problem is they probably way overpaid Mir and Fedor. Fedor makes a lot of money, and he should for being a top athlete, but he is never a good return on the money from a business stand point. His name doesn't sell PPV's or get ratings. He just stirs up the hardcores on the internet.

MMA in general is having a rough couple years... It's not Bellators product, it's people not caring anymore...
