He fought in the perfect weight class for the time.

People act like Hendo would beat Fedor 10/10 times, but Hendo almost got finished early despite Fedor fighting like an idiot.

But this is not about Tyson. It's about Fedor's performance and attributes vs Ngannou's performance and attributes. Both have never fought someone quite like each other before but due to that stylistic and reach advantage, I'd have to give Ngannou the W 6/10. Does that mean Ngannou's as technical as Fedor? No, Fedor's miles ahead of Ngannou in that respect but if we're talking about ability to win, Ngannou and Fedor are on the same level. I wrote a breakdown of Ngannou vs Gane for a dude, I could post it here later if you'd like to check it out?

He would use his head as bait to get you to throw, and then used footwork to close the distance and enter into the pocket with his head off center-line. This opens up counters. My fault, I was being sarcastic there. Guess it didn't translate well. I meant that was a bad example and it wasn't even prime Fedor, there are plenty of much better gifs for him than that.

Despite that little misunderstanding, the second sentence was serious. That was just an overhand followed by a left hook with his chin in the air. The only difference is, he threw the overhand and moved his head off the center line then immediately threw the left hook with little pause in between. Ngannou's head was still there and his momentum and weight was too much for him to follow up with a left hook that quick.

The overhand right, Russian hook or casting punch is a decent way to get inside an opponent, yes. But as I've said, Fedor can get wild at times and it's hard to measure distance well against someone with as long a reach as Ngannou and your gif showed it's weakness perfectly. I've already stated somewhere in this thread that if you don't try to counter it and or stand your ground it's not that useful and here we see it didn't land and Fedor didn't get on the inside. The left hook landed but it was more of Fedor being much faster than the somewhat slow Rogers than sound offense. Rogers tried to time Fedor with a left hand. Ngannou's go to is to either 1) glide backwards or 2) when he believes the distance is right, counter.
