Fedor Throwback

Some MW are more than 205lbs some MW are less than 205lbs

Any fighters who steps in a cage at 205lbs is fighting at MW weight

In some ways yes, in some ways no. It's just one of those things that's not black n white.

Check the official rules again, and quit with nonsense.

Anyone who weights over 205 lbs at weigh-in day is officially a heavyweight, and that's it.

It kinda is binary.
Fighters cut weight and rehydrate before fights.
And in the case for middle weights, they come in to fight over 200lbs as mentioned some up to 215lbs.

Reread.
Anyone stepping the cage at 205lbs is fighting at MW fight weight.
Not weigh ins, actually fight weight.

Yah, you're right, they do come in 190 to 215 lbs, pretty wide scale. It's just one of those things there is nothing set about it. Certain MWs use to come in at 210+ and then they dropped some mass and came in high 190s.

It's historically and contextually very accurate. It's technically inaccurate if you base his weight classification solely off of divisional minimums. The phrasing of "MW cage weight" clearly makes the distinction. All it means is Hendo didn't cut and rehydrate for the fight.

hmmm...yeahhh...but your basic mistake here is that you´re projectin´ a fighter from a different era into a modern one...

True, Hendo can be projected today & considered a natural [modern] MW, but... he was also an OW OG who had to bulk up to face bigger opponents in OW Tournaments, early in his career...

That said, Hendo was contextually & historically more of a LHW, career-wise.

On the other hand, what you´re doin´with Hendo should also be done with Fedor, who also had to start his own
career in OW Tournaments: he cant/couldnt be considered a natural HW.

That said Dans latter years (over 40 when he beat Fedor), he was barely in the 200lb range. He only had 1 LHW win after Fedor the rest of his wins were at MW

yeahh, but you´re forgettin´that the weight cut was gettin´rough for him, & that was one of the reasons behind his sub-par performance against Shields, along with naggin´injuries [neck, for instance].

Overall, career-wise, Hendo was first & foremost a LHW, not a MW.

Perhaps, but the latter part of his career in his 40s was at MW
ie. when he fought Fedor

Nah, there´s no 'perhaps', unless you can prove otherwise.

Meanwhile, even if you acknowledge Hendo as a MW, you still have to admit that Fedor was/is no natural HW...

Dan stepped in the cage at 205lbs when was 40 against Fedor

Thats the fighting weight of a MW

207 is closer to MW cage weight than any other class. Fedor at 225+ is closer to LHW, but it gets a bit convoluted when you consider many HWs regularly fight around there, and Fedor himself never really fights that low. Given his natural frame, he could absolutely be considered MW size if he actually dieted and cut weight. He never did though.

I wasnt aware you were asking something to prove

This is what you said:

ok, let´s see, tho... Why do you think he started & stayed @ HW?
[let´s forget for a sec. that he´s an OG like Wand & Crocop who feels badass & wants to be the baddest man in the world...]

If I had to guess or bet on it, I would say he started and stayed there because that's where the most money was at the time. That and he could juice to the gills and not have to cut weight - just like all the others who were doing the same shit.

In terms of core roster, what was the evolution of his team [RTT] back then?

Are you talking about Dan or Fedor?

Fedor likely stayed at HW because he had a relative advantage in terms of speed and athleticism over plodding uncoordinated HW's

Going down to LHW and MW would have ended his career much faster, hence the original point-

If a 40 year old MW knocked him out, imagine what a 24 year old jacked MW would do
