Fedor strengths and weaknesses and his skillset in the UFC today (Long Thread)

I never had an issue with the pro wrestling culture they promoted Pride with. Part of the spectacle. Was a non issue to me.

Brock wrestled his whole life and won the UFC in his 2nd year of pro fighting. Nogueira won the Pride 2 years after his pro debut and Fedor won it just under 3 years. None of that sounds wild to me.

Fedor and Nog had to win stacked tournaments to become champions in RINGS. Fedor won 2 tournaments in RINGS. Nog won a 32 man tournament.

Both had a lot of experience by the time they became world champs in PRIDE compared to Brock's quick road to a title shot in the UFC.

I'm unclear on the point you're attempting to make.

Someone brought up pro wrestling as some kind of knock against the UFC which was very confusing in a Pride context.

Brock was fast tracked to a title shot and was green

Nog and Fedor were already legit

No disagreement that Brock was fast tracked. Also don't see the linkage to the topic. I certainly didn't bring Brock up.

No it isnt.

He was sidemounted twice and failed on his mythical armbar and nearly keylocked by a guy who had nothing on the ground for Sean McCorkle.

That's like Anderson getting rocked and nearly ko'd by Askren lol
So your opinion on Fedor being in trouble somehow makes a submission win for Fedor worse than a tko loss for bb? Mind boggling logic

Still not worse than losing by tko in the first round against a MW grandpa, isn't it ? <GOT2>

Also, you obviously never watched the fight because you would have known they basically stared at each other during the whole fight :

So yeah Francis still lost but in a fight where nobody fighted.

It's basically the least harsh way to lose <GOT2>

So being shook in your absolute prime by a never champion, finished by well past his prime hunt Black beast is your somehow better than losing 3-4 dozen fights into your career to a multiple time world champion, two time Olympian, and known roider? Cool!! I never thought of it that way, thanks for enlightening me.

Yes.

Much better.

Hendo never won a real world title, is 6 years older than Fedor, was 16 pounds lighter, and does not have another KO win at HW.

He had previously been dominated by Jake Shields and arguably lost to Carlos Newton

No he wasn’t. He won 2 fights and weighed 193.
he got gifted a split decision over Newton (187#) also.

dumbass TheLastKing liked this post despite the fact that it makes the guy who ko'd Fedor look LESS impressive.

He liked it for no other reason than it was a rebuttal to Fioretti

Priceless lol

A pre-prime hendo is less relevant than a post-prime fedor but I couldn’t ignore the inaccuracies.

Lol imagine lying like this on the internet to strangers

You're using the "Hendo never knocked out a HW" angle as if that's some kind of indicator that he didn't have KO POWER.

Only a moron could read that and not make the determination that you're using scummy shillish tactics and mental gymnastics to spin getting knocked out by Hendo as some kind of embarrassment. You display every behavior of a little rat lol

Fedor was 223lbs when he fought Hendo. So was Wand, so Shogun, so was Feijao and so was Babalu. Hendo knocked them all out because he hits hard af, not because they weren't HWs you goalposts moving rodent lol

You specifically use this argument just like you specifically bring up Hendos losses at MW when everyone knows that hes historically performed worse in that division. You conveniently avoid his wins at LHW and stoppage wins over Wand and Shogun who are both top 5 LHWs of all time..

You're a miserable little rat to be putting this much energy into lying on the internet to strangers

What other HWs has Hendo KO'd?

It’s not really a typo because you are the one saying it is the beginning of hendos prime. He should have been 1-1 that night, Carlos Newton got the better of him. Hendo was nowhere near the fighter in 1998 that he would develop into.

That's not what I said. Little buddy said "name a fighter who peaked 8 years after becoming a champion". He claimed Hendo was peaking at 41 when he KO'd Fedro. I think you missed the purpose of my post, and yes, it was a typo. I put HW instead of MW.

Mirko and Nog had 35 MMA fights before they came to the UFC plus Mirko had 30 K1 fights in the toughest K1 era ever. Show me one fighter who didn't have an "average" record after 30+ fights.

Cain and JDS didn't even make it to 30 fights.

Cain is 1-2 after turning 33 and retired.

JDS is 3-5 since turning 33 with 5 of those losses coming by KO.

But Nog and Mirko coming to the UFC at 33 years old should be different?

What absurd standards you have. Dishonest toxic little rat lol

Henderson had more fights than Fedor, was much older and still beat him by TKO in the first round <36>
