Ariel: "Have you heard about UFC and M-1 now working together and does that surprise you?"

Fedor: "When you look at WHO runs M-1, you understand that ANYTHING is possible."

In English its hard to pick up the context but it was definitely back handed and I confirm this as a Russian speaker.

then Ariel asks: "You're no longer with them right? You're no longer affiliated with them?"

Fedor: "No. Not for a long time."

Again this didnt come off cordial. It came of somewhat harsh or bitter.

I always thought Vadim was going to fuck Fedor over but now its confirmed. What happened to Fedor being a part owner of M-1? Fedor used to say Vadim and him were great friends. The M-1 website hasnt posted Fedor news in years or made any posts wishing him luck in his fights or giving him any coverage. How does Vadim go from being his friend to not attending not one of his fights in the last few years? All of the beef with the UFC over the years and constant disrespect and now Vadim does business with them in the end like a bitch. What a slimy scumbag. I hope Fedor isnt still fighting only because Vadim fucked him over so badly. Sucks if Fedor isnt going to be making money from M-1 considering the brand was built on his back.

I suspect what you saw with Fedor's layoff was partly M-1 being unwilling to offer him comeback fights because they couldn't afford it anymore without support of other orgs so he waited until the contract ended.

You look at the details of that contract and actually Fedor seemed to make a pretty good deal signing on for garneted income for many years just before he started to decline. Indeed I suspect that's a lot of why he went with M-1 and not the UFC, might potentially have gotten more per fight in the latter but it wasn't gareneted.

Fedor is a great man but he made a big mistake trusting that parasite that much.

Whats crazy is Fedor didnt make that much per fight on paper. He made 300k on paper for the Tim Sylvia with the rest of his purse going to M-1 which he was supposedly a part owner of. I wonder how much of that dwindled away into Vadim's pockets....

That was I believe what Affliction was paying him(which might actually have gone to M-1) not what M-1 was paying him, if the leaked contract is correct he got a $1.5 million signing bonus and then $2 million a fight whilst he was winning.

Again I suspect if anything the problem is the contract was too good and M-1 didn't want to carry on honouring it.

Who the fook is Vadim?
Anyway, Fedor bless!

A promoter taking advantage of a fighter???? Thats unheard of!

All managers are slimy scumbags, it's in the job description.

If Fedor let a manager con him into staying away from the UFC by giving him 10% of M1, then it's on him.

Only time I've ever liked Meathead is when he fired Malky during a live podcast. That's how you need to treat this scum.

Again the way things went I think Fedor ended up making a smart deal, when he started to drop off losing fights in 2010 I think you can bet the UFC would not have been willing to pay him big money anymore and he'd either have been renegotiated or dropped, with the M-1 deal he carried on getting good money for another 5 matches.

I kind of suspect Fedor wanted to come back a bit sooner than he did but Vadim couldn't afford to pay him for M-1 shows and nobody wanted to co promote so he ended up waiting out the contract.

War the Emperor

He's with Jerry Millen again now, so I am not so sure if its an improvement.

Tyson had Don King, Ronda had Edmund, and now we know Fedor had Vadim. Behind every great decline, there is a freeloading swine.

I'd love to know the real inside story of this. Thanks TS for your input.

This has been my suspicion since he decided to return to the sport. What a shame, he would have been set for life if he came over and fought Lesnar in 2010.

What a world we live in when this guy is telling the truth.
